I have not been posting as much WHY?

Well I just got back from a Graphics convention looking at the latest technology for the world of graphics. New software, Vinyl plotters, printers, T-shirt printers and much much more..
 
I finally have found a Vinyl Plotter and an Electronic heat press that I will be ordering to make custom decals,shirts, banners and apparel. I am excited for this equipment to arrive so that I can start making some cool ass shiat. I am still looking into a couple of wide format printers or a nice lazer printer to make colored prints for shirts and hats and mouse pads..
 
I have seen many heat transfer vinyls that come in mad crazy colors. I did not know that there was so many available. Expensive as Fu$& to. New heat transfer paper will allow the colors to be vibarent on black and dark colors and will last to everyday wear and the washer and dryer...cool stuff mayng..
 
Anyways I know lots of you have asked me to turn my designs in to shirts or make custom 1 off decals of your platform (wide n low) I now will be able to meet your needs with cutting out the middle man and having the necessary equipment in my office..

i like the lowerider style of pinstripes with all the nice round cursave like patterns from the beggining and the end. looks very elegant. i cant find it...but sessions makes one similar to it.

Elpres has been makin' shirts for a while, di'nchyaknow?

you gonna be using Plastisol inks for screen printing? That's what a lot of the indie designers seem to be using, and I was thinking of trying that out for myself too.

Not going to be screen printing..Vinyl holds up better and with the new laser jet printers and and heat transfer paper you can do alot more with this type of set up. Image is supposed to hold up better than tradditional screen printing. From what I have gathered lots of companys or headed towards Vinyl transfer and Laser Ink transfer. They even have a new machine that prints directly on to your shirts.

Hm, laser ink transfer eh?

I'll let you experiment with that, while I dabble in screen printing, that sounds too high-tech for me! lol

Just use to be a saying around here probably shows my age..hehehehehehe...Back in the old school days. We use to use Tres flores in our hair...could not lean against a window with out leaving a grease mark..hahahahahahah

Yeah I got some pretty cool Ideas and I will waite to post anything till I get the actual products and have actual items to show. I have been doing T-shirt design for a while and allways wanted to capitolize on it as I was missing out on the skrilla. I have been involved in youth sports for 8 years now and I just designed a logo for a soccer club and they were asking me about making decals and shirts for their club. Since I have been wanting to do this for a while on my own I thought it would be a perfect time to invest in some equipment...There goes my aero kit mula...but I tell you what The car can allways waite I am not in a hurry to finish her a few weeks back I was but when business opps present them selves I would rather invest my money than spend my money if you know what I mean.
 
In the graphics business you allways have to be doing more and more..Sometime Logo design is on point while other months webdesign rocks out..then its like a roller coaster so the more I can offer my clients the more I can get repeat customers and in any business thats where the money is at in repeat customers not first time customers..:biggthumpup:

if all goes well then you will have more then enough $$$ to get your aero kit!

Yeah hopefully, its just another way to make an honest living. I have money to buy the kit but the way i mod this project is kinda like this..I will put money aside here and there and when I have enough to do something I want I do it..I have 4 kids another car payment a few rentals and two business that I have money going into..If I just plopped all my ends into this car it would be done along time ago but my businessess would have alos suffered. Family and work before pleassure..I also am working on a 52 chevy truck that I am restoring so lots of things going on.
 
 
like I said I am in no hurry times change and ideas change..
 
Thanks though for the words of enocouragment...For the money I have invested in the past year in my GD business it will take a bit to see the profit..Technology comes with an expensive price tag....

I mentioned it due to the fact that I've been using these various types of processes for a few years now.  They aren't new..just new to you.  Which is fine, it's not a knock Rich...so don't take it personal.  I have my own "sweatshop" (haha, just me sweating though) in my second bedroom with all my machines and gear.  And yes...they do carry an expensive price tag, you're also right about the waves of different design work.  It's weird how that happens isn't it.  When it rains it pours...

With the laser ink transfers, some are better than others as I'm sure you saw at the convention.  Some work better for lighter shirts, some better for darker.  So it's really trial and error to see what works best.  Most of the new ones are very seamless though, even on white shirts (which used to be a big issue the past years).  Don't be afraid to ask for free samples from companies (or even just for cheap), many will give you some for free to try out before you buy.

Yeah shiat gets expensive..Some of the cutters I saw where very pricey I saw one for nearly $20000 but man it was the shit..Color Printed and cut and was a wide format printing.  I guess you could do every thing in one with this machine but I could not afford to move in that direction just yet. 
 
My main goal is to start small and work my way up eventually buying an embroidery machine to add to the arsenal..
 
In Tucson Graphic design work in not as much as a money maker as Embroidery and T-shirt making would be. Most of all my business with logos websites and other things I do has been International as well as national. Big cities that are not afraid to pay the money. Tucson folks just want shit done for free or dirt cheap and don't realize the cost involved in Software and hardware ,software upgrades and well you know. I just recently purchased a $7500 computer to handle and meet my needs for what I do. That has to be incorporated in the costs and like I said folks just don't understand. But what has helped me is that right now I am working out of my home I have an office here and So I can usually beet competitors prices with much better work. So bigger cities look for people like me that they can get great quality work but pay less than there local Business would charge.
 
I hope to actually open a shop within the next 3-5 years. I keep putting money aside and keep buying more equipment so when  I do have the right opportunity I will have all that I need..
Although I have been in business for 5 years now it takes a while to establish and grow..They say a successful business takes years to achieve not something overnight.
 
Anyways I look forward to seeing where I go with this. I already have a few clients lined up and one of them will be making over 1000 shirts...hopefully they like my work and will be repeat accounts.
