mounting and balancing

i snapped some shots while i was mounting/balancing some JP Scara's. thought i'd show some of you what goes on.....

these are step lip rims, usually you mount step lip rims face up, but the way these rims were made, you could mount them face up or reverse mount... so to protect the lip, i put some 3M tape on it and slipped the plastic clamp covers on, reverse mounted them (upside down) and clamped them from the outside....

forgot one step but.....

flipped them over and inflated them with air....

mounted them on the balancer and did work.....

perfect, j/k most of the time you gotta add weight, some times if youre lucky.......

wow. luv the rears. never knew they were dual bolt pattern. did u order them that way?

Wow! It look effortless to mount those. When I got mine mounted 215/35-18, those idiots like manhandling my tires!

Not hard at all, easier actually. Since the inner lip is where you're doing work (outer lips is pointing down, protected) I just go to work on it. No one is gonna see the inner lip. So it doent matter if it gets scratched up, its on the inside....

I didn't order them. A friend of mine brings in rims and tires and I mount and balance them for him.

mounting tires is not hard at all...the machine does most of the work...

dismounting super stretched tires can be a bitch though...little sidewall to work with when trying to get the lip if the tire over the edge of the rim...
