Yeah its easier to duplicate because there is not the depth that real wood has. With real wood depending on pattern and color will have more going on in the actual wood. THis piece was hard because I had to use a lighter base coat, then a few shades of brown and then a transparent red..then I was able to do the wood grain but I had to use a pint striping brush (very fine) to make the little lines in the wood and make a patern..It took me a few hours just to do that part. Then I air brushed some burls a coat of transparent red in certain spots and finaly cleared..I guess you could say its easier but still takes some work to make it right...YOur wood was still the hardest yet...TO much going on in that pattern and stain.8(

by the way this was for trailz516

Rich...

Look here for colors I have done so far

to be honest though, i would rather use wood vinyl overlay stickers cuz it has a perfect match and would cost about 10 times less. haha.

i think you matched the nissan would much better or almost perfect even.

Zion, can you do blackwood? I have a buddy who's interested in getting some of his interior matched to some OEM blackwood pieces.

the woodgrain on the interior door handles are already a little darker than the one thats around my shifter in my g50, so i dont think that'll be such a big deal

Thats how my car is from the factory....I dont know if they used real wood with the G50 but in the Y33 they used hydroprinting and depending on patterns and undercoat makes the pieces come out different especially if they were done in different batches... but I could most likley do a great job here are is a pic of all the colors I have done up to date..PM me if you are interested I will hook it up..

Same thang man as above they may have done the pieces in different batches and using slighltly different woodgrain samples...if it is real wood than most cars that do use real wood will allways have slightly different shades as some wood takes the color different than the other and if it has more wood grain pattern or burls...MY LX470 has real wood and it seems like all the pieces are slightly off in color when you look at them but at a quick glance they look close enough for the eye not to notice...
