Not old news. Their bid was old news, but the agreement was never finalized/concrete.

when i used to live in india, used to own a tata car. it was pretty nice but after all the roads suck there so cars tend to not last long. plus its $$ to maintain these expencive cars in a 3rd world country. i guess the automotive industry there is coming up. i wouldnt by them any how..i like my nissans and lexus's.

As I said, "like when." Anything involving Chrysler Corp will make for poor craftsmanship:pat:

a man with some sense in him!!!!

he is correct, jaguar was going down the toilet till Ford came in and rescued them by buying them. Then they take the Jaguar name and build a legacy again, since before the Ford years Jaguar had become an outdated and unreliable brand. After the Ford purchase they started livening up the brand with new designs and new technology. Did they screw up along the way.... yes hahahahaha but then again look at Mercedes, they outsourced their wiring harnesses between 2000-2005 and they ate crap for it. All I can say is Land Rover and Jaguar benefitted from the buyouts more than anything else, since 1989 when Ford bought Jaguar, and since 2000 when they bought Land Rover, both brands enjoyed a success unknown to them for a decade before the purchase!
