I like to call it the flavor of life, but if it really bothers you that much than the next time you see a car like that think to yourself, "that guy exists to make my car look better" =)

well said brandon. its really all from japan. you know thats where everything comes from and leave it to america to rice it out. its to each is own taste on vip and class. i figure if you have a super vip car(ie maybach, s class benz, L series Lexus) and its fully loaded...why play with it? when you have everything you need. if my car was as VIP as its saposte to be. i wouldnt be lowering it and throwing huge rims on it. its a car that didnt cost me much. and i can afford to make it my own. with my own taste. whether it be crystals or big bodykits. choices....its what makes life so special=)

Vip is ricey, its often tasteless and definitely impractical. But thats the point... if you are just trying to make your car look more classy expensive then you should have just saved up for a more classy/expensive car.

Not flaming but you must realize that everyone obviously has different styles and tastes like so many have stated already right? But to say that because it's not your cup of tea then it must be wrong is just as irrational as saying I don't like grapes therefore they taste like crap and are bad for you.....

back in 1997 vip had huge wings even more outragous body kits. Vip is about being aggressive. if u want clean then go EXE.

EXE ? 101 ? whats that...

I think we have different opinion when I come to VIP style.
Back in my country we use term VIP as clean looking, big wheels, crazy drop, that’s all.

I’m not sure about vip 101. whats that all about, is that the “style” come from japan or from usa ?

Vip 101 is where new members go to learn about Vip before being let into the main forum. That system only started this year, that's why you didn't go through it.

After read VIP 101; come up with this. I stick with my statement. True vip is getting ricer. Not that I don’t like.
Is the new trend. Everybody follow what trend now. ( Example; putting crystal, etc in my car is like, Lindsey lohan Crystal Sidekick. )

True VIP : Japanese luxury cars with jdm ascessories. Include Garson,DAD,Juction-Produce,etc
VIP style: all other cars brand name that is not in “True VIP” who wannabe VIP looks.

I still like my Indo’s Vip style term. Which big rims, wheels tuck. No air suspension. And plain simple & clean look.
No light, no accessories, no crystal.

That's fine, you don't have to like current Vip trends. As long as you know what's what. Crystal is in at the moment and Garson/DAD was a pioneer in that, so perhaps a bit of research is in order.

You know I see a lot of this turning out just like the Honda scene did. Cars started off clean with mellow jdm parts. Then a trend comes such as crystals and nasty kits. Then later when original jdm comes back in style everyones going to be like "I never had that on my car, I was ALWAYS into keeping my car clean and mellow."

Thanks for pointing that out.I was thinking that Vipstyle is just Vipstyle , there is no rule or 101 about it.
I guess I’m wrong. But imo there is no rules/guideline, regarding what people do to their car.weather True Vip nor Vip styles.
This thread is about True VIP trend is getting ricey. Which I believe that is true. :)

Not sure where you are from (your profile says Seattle?) but vipstyle STARTED in Japan. It may have gotten inspiration from other countries (europe etc), but vipstyle as we know it is a style defined in Japan.

There are other styles such as DUB, Euro, whatever, but thats not vipstyle and thats not what we are discussing on this thread. Your posts certainly look like you havent really understood where this style came from - did you read the article about accepted vip platforms?

So, if you go back and look at some of the mags from the early 90s you might be completely shocked to see that the vipstyle from that time was completely ricey and ridiculous. We're talking 8x exhausts, 3ft wings and bodykits that looked like transformers. But the point was that it was being done to vip chassis cars, thats what made it vipstyle

Now if you look at the progression of vipstyle in Japan, you will notice the style has slowly mellowed out to the current trend, which is much less ricey than before. its still completely ridiculous but thats just the way it is.

Im gonna move sum folks to 101...because this is sum serious 101 type ish =)

Not to be mean, it's so people who've 'slipped thru' will have an understanding of current (and past) VIP cars....not V.I.P. cars.

what you guys are describing is a car you'd consider a V.I.P. type ride (commonly Dub or EXE).....not the same as what we are building here.

Please do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think people get it. Its been getting really annoying that people assume that they are more VIP then others or that this is VIP and that isnt. IF you think its rice then dont do it no one is forcing you yo buy it. Everyone is their own and if they want to put somethin in their car let them because they wont knock you because u didnt do it.
