1998 Q45 AIRBAG LIGHT BLINKING!

i did research i cant find anyways to get rid of it! i read on the visor which said the system must be inspected after the 10 years of the manufactured date of the car. its been a few months and now its bothering me. how the hell do i reset that damn light without going to the dealer?

you only can reset it at the dealership. OR take the speedometer out and pull out that light.

I was gonna do this when i converted my Gauge cluster lights to LEDs, but that bulb is hard wired in and I do NOT want to find out what happens to the car when its cut out.

you dont have to cut it out just pull the light out^^^^^^

The bulb is soldered in.... at least it was in my 97 cluster.

well then tape it up with electrical tape and leave it out.....

Hmmm...  Ill have to pull out the cluster and see what i can do.  Although i still wouldnt mind having the car scanned.

Wow....so you guys would rather have your bulb just taped up rather than have your SRS  tested...smart thinking.

I said Id rather have it tested....  I dont know when Im going to have time to have the car in to the dealership, so until then not having something blinking at me sounds fantastic!

take it to the dealer n have it tested for like 10000000000000000000 bucks and say i have to replace a sensor size of a dime for another 100000000 bucks. naw. hahaha. the car is 10 years old! f*ck it!

Ya I was told $179 for a scan.....  And whatever else to fix the problem.  I smiled put my sunglasses back on turned around and walked away laughing quietly.  Im gonna stop by a shop i used to work at and use their scanner one of these days to see if I can get any results.  But I like the taping it up idea in the meantime.

yeah i just did that right now. took apart the cluster and NO you cant take out the bulb. it is solder onto the board of the cluster. so either take it to the dealer and have them shove a spark plug up ur a** or put sum electrical tape behind the airbag lamp n call it a day. HA!

oh and i called infiniti in riverside, ca they told me it will be 100 bucks for a scan then 110 bucks per hour to fix plus parts. f*ck that shit!

doesnt the safety equipment have a longer warranty than the whole car?  i remember i had to take my moms accord in for the SRS light.  the car itself was out of warranty and they had to replace the whole computer in the passenger seat and have it sewn back up.  took forever.  they said the safety equipment comes with a longer warranty.

Not at the infiniti dealer around me.....

Mine's doing it to. Got it scanned and they said that one of the sensors are reading as open. Supposedly your car does this when starting the car but the sensor will close afterwards. Apparently mine didn't.

Well that trick didnt work on my car.  Tried it a couple times.  I guess its time to bust out the electrical tape until i can get it into the dealer.

I used electrical tape..When I replaced my OEM steering wheel to the woodgrain steering wheel the airbag light came on. I did not want to pay $100 bucks to have it reset so I used electrical tape and has been fine ever since...those lights dont get hot enough to melt the tape and it was the easiest thing to do. If I ever get around to it I may drop the $100 bucks and have it reset but a year later and I have not had the need to do it..so will see...

My AIRBAG lite has been on for a few months also. it just keeps flashing. a month later my check engine light went on. and a few weeks later after that it came off. days after it went back on! at least the SES u can check it at autozone and sometimes they reset it. I think ill do the tape trick until someone finds a cure or im so fken filthy rich i just want to spend money on stupid shit!!  lol

hahaha f*ck that light!!!!!!!! plus i did everything! 10 press to 5 press to everything press everything! didnt work and i aint gonna be paying no 300 plus for that bs.  i drove my car without hitting potholes drove over speed bumps slow......everything......that airbag lamp is just to make money.....f*ck that light!

You have to press more than 10 times. but this may only work on g50's and not y33's.

Right now I am dealing with the stupid TCS OFF/SLIP lights turning on. probably b/c my brakes or some chit.

does your horn work. If it does it may not in a little bit.  I have the same problem and I've diagnosed it as my airbag clockspring being broken.  I'll be fixing it soon.

you need to press the door switch 5 times with in 7 seconds after turning the ing. sw. to the ON position  to get into and out of diag mode.... per fsm...
