upgrade your servers

all the money you make every month from advertisers
 
upgrade your damn servers, this site loads hella slow compared to every other site, and im on a fiber optic connection
 
and i CONSTANTLY get server busy messages
 
liek 1 out of 5 loads

to be honest, the money we make from the advertising is very minimal.  Unlike other places that charge like 400-500 a month for advertising, we charge no where near that.  Seriously, no where near that.  

We are looking at moving to a new host as we speak, going over logistics such as DNS downtimes and what not.  I just want to make sure the move goes thru clean.  We are actively trying to figure out something.. give us some time.  I promise to make it up to you guys and gals :)

lol seriously, we just charge enough to keep this place running.  We are trying!  I'm just kinda timid, considering that we've been on this server from when we began in 03.  Im afraid something will go wrong

but the speed of this board, with the class of people supposed to be on it, and the level of your vendors, is really unnaceptable.
the switch should have been made months ago.
 
BUT, i did just time this page load, it took 47 seconds
zilvia took 6

honestly since i first started actively posting and now is a HUGE difference. its no where near as slow as it was before and im running wifi from someone elses house lolol.  pages load really fast for me now, at any computer i use.

edit this message took 4 seconds to post from the time i clicked "post quick reply"

Maybe its just you. Server is normal to me. It takes me 2 secs to load a page. It may be your computer slowing down. =)

3 different laptops
two work desktops (t1 lines)
and a computer lab

damn t1 is so fast.......

somedays for me it's fast some it's slow could jsut be server traffic...o well I'll be happy as long as the site is up.:dance:

sh*t...i'm checking out this site daily from inside the Pentagon and i get no problems outside of photobucket and youtube being blocked.

then again, i don't think the Air Force is in charge of networks and such so maybe that's why.

Funny, i have problems accessing this site if i dont use a US-based proxy server. For some reason i think VSC doesnt work well outside the US

server is fine really, sometimes its slow but nothing so drastic that you would have to fork out alot of money so far. i mean there arent even much users so bandwidth use aint bad right now.
