exhaust rattle

seems that i lowered my car on something, and the support bar (i think) under my mid section exhaust was bent upwards.  at low idle it was rattling like crazy, so i removed it to straighten it out.  thing is one of the bolts snapped.  is it necessary to put this piece back on?  it  isnt supposed to touch the exhaust, looks like its just there in case the exhaust falls off.  so the bar will keep it from dragging on the ground.

Yeah its just a safety bar that incase your exhaust was to come undone it wont fly across the freeway and hit other cars its not affecting anything if you remove it its just a safety feature
