Look Thats a smooth car OH its a Nissan__Funny Story

THe other day some guy was checking out my 97 Q45. He was pretty impressed over it and kept walking around the car..He noticed the Cima Grill and said thats a cool grill..As he got closer to the emblem he said " Oh Hell it is just a Nissan" I thought it was a Infiniti he then lost interest in the car and asked me why I was trying to make my nissan look like an Infiniti..I Laughed inside my head and thought you have no Idea.........

I mentioned it in the "this isnt Japan part 1" thread, but at a carshow i overheard some dude tell his gf that my Soarer wasnt as good as the lexus badged soarer next to mine because Lexus is more luxurious

Lexus usually drops all the cool features that their equivelent JDM Toyotas have; i.e. air suspension, digital dash, touchscreen navigation, reversing camera etc (all this on a '92 model car)

I have taken the Cedric badges off my Y32 because most people associate Nissan Cedric with a god-awful POS that Nissan sold way back in the 60s and 70s. I only have a small Nissan logo on the badge covering the boot keyhole, but i love it when people literally walk all around my car to try to find out what it is... 

I was going to confuse the hell outta people and put Yakuza and then the VIP logo from the top range Cedric in Japan; but then i decided it was kinda ricey. I'll let them keep guessing

a friend of mine use to work at lexus and told me an older gentlemen came in a month or so after he bought a GS and complained that all the engine parts were toyota and nt lexus. :idiot2:

It's kinda funny, because here in the states, we put Nissan and Toyota badges on our Lexus and Infinitis. Yet some people in Japan would put Lexus and Infiniti badges on their Toyotas or Nissans, especially the Q45...or also they will mix and match. ex. a Lexus Celsior or Infiniti President.

kinda the opposite but....

a Z32 clip came into a local shop badge up as an infiniti....

i guess in japan, they wanna be usdm. 

thats hella funny. i could just picture it.. their car shows have a best usdm category..  people walking by saying wow look at that lexus that is so USDM CRAZY!! hahahah ;D

Yea, I've went to an organized meet and the guys at the entrance saw my grill and were like "the Nissans park over there", I wasn't offended, but I did separate myself from the rest of the Nissans and parked with the luxury sedans that were there. There's tons of people who still don't know Infiniti and Nissan are basically the same, I told this guy who asked why I had Nissan badges and why would I put them on if its an Infiniti, I said why not, it says Nissan in the corners of the windows and everywhere else under the hood.
