Test fit: 19x10 -7 AME Shallen LX

Here's current progress on my fender pulling trying to fit these beasts.

19x10 -7 AME Shallen LX 235/35/19 Falken FK452

I got two friends to sit on the rear for the pictures :)
I'm hoping that it'll tuck it completely with just camber from this point on. Let me know what you think. This is my first experience using my MAX fender roller.

i think you might still rub with 235's...especially with the 452's...

throw some 225's on and you'll be in better condition...looks like you need to tuck about 1 1/4"...about 5-6 degrees of camber equals 1"...

personally, i think you're still gonna rub with 235's but keep us updated...

nice roll btw...looks like you really took your time...

These are Auto Fashion's old rims right?
On this is on a 2gen. GS?

Will be worth it once you get it to fit! But they pulled the fender....

This is on a 1st Gen LS400. I've already pulled the fender to the extent that if I go any further the fender will buckle. With every pass I make now, the fender buckles, then unbuckles as the roller passes the top of the arch of the fender. Suggestions for new rear tires guys? 225/35/19 SS595 Federals, 225/35/19 Falken ST-115 or 215/35/19 Falken Fk452?

Well, it really seems like different rear tires is a major part of the equation since FK452's are a fatty tire.

I am considering 2 different tires, please help me choose.

225/35/19 Federal SS595
225/35/19 Falken ST-115

I am leaning towards the ST-115 since I hear they stretch very well and run narrow for their sizes. Input? Iirc the rears are only at -1 or -2 camber right now. Currently riding on Tokico shocks with Tanabe DF210 springs, converting to hydraulics soon (courtesy of FrankTheTank).

Federals are fatter then Falkens IMHO, 225/35/19 on a 8.5 gave me less stretch than a 225 falken 452. You maybe better off sticking with Falken but going to a 225. You'll just have to deal with the load rating difference.

you shouldn't have any problems fitting a 225 on a 10...i've seen 245's on a 12" before...

i would get some generals or federalis...why don't you camber the rear first and see how much more you need to go...a smaller tire may not even help...if i remember correcly, the 1st gen LS cambers roughly 4 degrees...its not as much as say a y33...

hows the fitment in the front? whats the size?

Hmm, to me it looks like you should pull more, way more. And on the inside of the wheel well, just above the lip, there's a ridge you should hammer down flat to for tire clearance and helps roll and pull out a bit further...

I don't thinkyou would have to run a 225 in the rear. I max cambered, roll and pulled mine (19x10 -2) on 235 falkens and my strut bottomed out as the tire slightly rubbed. Now im doind 19x10 -10 with 225 just cuz I want the lip to kiss the quarter....

Imo, max out the camber, and roll and pull more to were it flares out. GO NEGATIVE OFFSETS FTW!!!

What Hoebag said. 235 ST or 225 FK

I had 225/35/19 ST115 on 19x9.5 and it was extreme. I doubt 225 ST115 would fit on 19x10.

Mista since you have a 1LS like mine I'm going to go with what you said and go at it and try to pull it even more. I finished my driver's side today and got it MUCH cleaner than my passenger side came out (passenger side was the first fender I EVER rolled/pulled). Pics up soon. I have a feeling I can get it far enough out to tuck this wheel, and I'll be so happy when it does. So just sledge or deadblow that inner ridge down as well? I was going to ask about that, so thank you for clarifying beforehand.

You don't need to do anything but add 2-3 degrees of camber and you'll be fine.

Max camber it first, you may not have to pull it too much more. Max out the camber and toe essenctric bolts to the max. It'll be in the ball park of being even. Then see from there how much if any you have to pull...

You're using a heat gun right? Just heat up the lip and nothing else. Trust me, It won't buckle. Plus too, it looks like you are taking your time rolling and pulling cuz it looks nice.

Ill try to get you some pics when I get to a computer...

Well, when I 'dump' it, I would like the tire to tuck down to the wheel. This should happen if the pull is far enough regardless of the camber, am I right?

The alignment costs $125 so I'm doing that last if anything I believe. I would also like to try to conserve tire wear a little bit. If I ride at a higher height (equivalent height of sidewall in fender gap) then the camber should be less than it would be at slammed height, is this correct?

Yes I am using a heat gun while doing this. I took my time with the passenger side fender and that took me about 6 hours while messing around. The driver's side took me half that time and I've managed to get to this point in 3 hours time using lame OEM jacks (pinch weld jack from a firebird and the lexus scissor jack for the control arm). I've found that if you put the roller directly on the two dimple points and use an extra amount of force outwards, the dimples will mostly disappear.

So, should I try pulling the fender and getting it to sit how I'd like it to, then look into cambering? I'm thinking of running -5 degrees max if possible at ride height (or is this unrealistic?). Mista if you can send me an IM if you have AIM so we can discuss a bit.

what do you mean 'tire tuck down to the wheel'?

yes, whenever you raise the car, the camber will be more positive...the more slam, the more camber...

get it to where you want it, camber and all, then get the alignment last...

-5 degrees is manageable for daily driven...

very nice...almost there...good thing mista gave you some good advice...

Do you mean I should manually adjust the camber by eye before getting an alignment?

I mean tucking the tire down to the wheel by like when the car goes full slam I hope it'd camber in enough to tuck part of the tire or maybe the entire tire and maybe rest on the wheel.

I actually did all of the work I did without mista's advice. I'm putting his advice to use on saturday morning :)

you set your camber at what you need to clear your wheels
they can adjust toe adn everything else

Yeah, just max out the camber manually yourself. Trust me it will be damn close to specs. On the 2 lower arms there's an essentric bolt with degrees of adjustment. Make the lines more visable with a sharpie, loosen the nuts (19mm) and adjust the bolts, max it out.
Don't pull anymore until you max the camber. Then see from there if you wanna pull some more.
All the alignment shop will have to do from that point is set toe. As long as all the tires are pointed straight, tire wear will be kept to a minimun. Incorrect toe wears faster than negative camber. Keep us posted. And lets see more pics

if you want the edge of the rim to kiss the fender (this is the best look imo) then you need to account for everything...camber, tire stretch, pull, etc...if you adjust your camber, it will affect the look you're trying to achieve...

and yeah, only ask for toe alignment...you'll be maxing the camber by yourself...they may give you a wierd look but be sure they understand what you want...

I really never knew this info guys, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I may pull the passenger side a tiny bit more to even it out with the driver side, and I'll max my camber (since we dont get much negative camber stock on ucf10's as it is).

Mista, this is probably dumb to ask, but I recall the eccentric bolt having a circle on it too with those notches. How do you properly go about 'maxing it out'?

just loosen the bolt on the other side and turn the eccentric bolt...tighten it back up...you're done...you will be able to feel the whole hub move...bottom will come outward and top will move in...

Hammered the inner fender flat with a deadblow and pulled it out more.

yeah, lets see some side, full on, and 3/4 shots...i'd like to see how your pull looks...

i'm not into the ski slope fenders...i like more of a mild look...it looks better when there's a subtle slope...definitely need to put a skim coat of filler to make it nice and smooth...

great job though...way to stick with it...

I'm going to be putting all 4 wheels on tomorrow. I'll get some full pics for you guys then. I personally like a more subtle slope as well (I would have liked to have kept the stock body line) but this is what I needed to do to get it to fit. From a distance it looks awesome though. I know I'll need some filler eventually but I'm not worried about it at this point.

Haven't touched the camber, it's kinda difficult to run such low camber around here in the tri-state. When I get an alignment I'll have them adjust it because I dont have the proper tools to do so here in Hoboken, unfortunately.

Current progress is pulling the front fenders. I was attempting to fix up my driver's side fender and ended up pulling it on accident. Fortunately, this led me to test fitting my 25mm spacers, and it looks absolutely mint with it. So, tomorrow I finish pulling the fronts to make the front sit at 0 offset with the spacer

I think it looks good for someone thats going to run it with the natural drop camber. At least u dont have to worry about too much tire wear. It gets pretty bad when u always have to get tires for the people that drive far to get to places. When we had a car drive from the shop to LA then to vegas and back tires where pretty beat up because they were running toyos with crazy camber. Keep up the good work and lets see more progress.

Going to get an alignment for this year after I install my hydraulics (hopefully this upcoming weekend). When that happens I will be riding it lower (though difficult with the roads here). When driving the tires constantly tuck with NO rubbing :P I'll get the fenders smoothed out when I eventually get the car repainted.

Keep in mind I'm working on the sidestreets of Hoboken on this... And there's really no places I know of around this area that still do fender rolling/pulling. It'll get smoothed out.

As soon as the hydros are in, it's getting dumped.

I'm gonna try to smooth out the fenders soon, but I might not be able to get it repainted until August. So I might have to ride around with fenders like this until that time.
