PS3!!!! the Xbox Please-fix-me speaks for itself when it comes to sucking, and the Wii is cool if you have no hope of ever getting some serious gaming done (like Madden.... it sucks on the Wii), the PS3 just offers the best all around experience which includes graphics, playability, awesome games that are worth a crap, and cost!!! for the cost it is better than the Xbox and you get the new generation player to boot...... Blu-Ray
Remember Noel..... friends don't let friends buy gay game consoles....

I have both..I have an XBOX 360 that I had to replace once due to the problem they had with soldering on a few runs of machines, but my current machine has been running strong with no issues ever since and it was replaced free of charge and only a few days down time.
I have a PS3 (60gb upgraded to 320gb) which I bought specifically for the backwards capabilities (60gb model) for PS2 games through hardware, not software changes like some other versions. I then upgraded the HDD for more storage capabilities.
I don't own a wii, but wouldn't mind having one, they're great for parties, but other than that..it's either a nursury school or nursing home system.
I like having both the XBOX 360 and the PS3 since there's certain games I love for both...but you have to appreciate the value of buying a Blueray player and getting a free gaming system out of it..haha.

So far IMO 360 has better games, better online play and is the better buy right now. The PS3 network blows donkey nutts if you are into multiplayer games. Yes its free, but just as the saying goes you get what you pay for!! I am very happy with my 360, yes be it I had the RROD (red ring of death) but they replaced it for free. I am definately gonna give mad points to the PS3 for bru RAY!! and MGS4, I might just buy this system because of this ONE game lol!!

I finally just pony'd up and got a PS3. I love my PS3 as a BluRay player as well as my addiction to Gran Turismo. However, I still gotta take my 360 because of Live capabilities. I need to either fix my 360, like Mike said earlier, I had the soldering issues also, or buy a new one.
Its up to you Noel, if you do a lot of Online Gaming, get a 360. PS3 however hands down technology wise. (No I am not biased because of my affiliation to a certain company named after a fruit), or a Wii for party gaming! Nothing makes people look all stupid like Wii Games

I would have to say if you are a hardcore online guy 360 is the way to go. Gameplay and graphics I would say its pretty close toss up, but many PS3 games are still only max 720p. I love the PS3 for being able to play bluray. 360 now is now HDMI compatible Iono I love em both and had to own both just for exclusive titles.
As for the Wii... meh not my gig

Ive got a 360 elite and I love it like a child. the xbox has got it where it counts for me, GAMES. sony cant hold on to the few system exclusives it had (save metal gear and GT) and I cant justify its ridiculous price. Its slightly more powerful than the 360 sure but the games come out almost 6 months later than the xbox versions and arent tuned to harness its power because the system is notoriously harder to develop for.
I also have always loved nintendo and I think the wii is great. I dont have time for one now but maybe later on down the line it would be nice to have one.

I've played both systems, and truthfully I can't say that one is better then the other. Graphics look damn near the same and cost for games are pretty universal. They both operate in HD, but I do agree the 360 has an advantage in online dept, however PS3 plays bluray (try to find a good deal on a BR player). Personally I prefer the controller for PS3 when I play racing games, but the XBOX controls for combat. Mainly the only thing I play now is Guitar Hero, so that doesn't matter so much. I like them both!

I cannot condone this sort of talk SikNLow. lol
I have both the original 80gb PS3 and 2 Xbox 360 Pro consoles (with every accessory you can buy for a 360, might I add). Gaming is my realm. Outside of my daily errands and businesses that I run, I game all the time (around 60 hours a week). And I've held a steady relationship with my girlfriend. How do I do it? I'll never know.
About your claim that PS3 graphics are better than the 360...I'm sorry to bust your bubble, but reality is, they're NOT. I did a side-by-side comparison on 11 titles that were both available for the 360 and the PS3 (as stated on another forum I frequent). All 11 titles looked better, sharper, crisper, brighter, and played smoother than on the PS3. Why is this? I don't know. There are plenty of speculations and theories out there but I know what I know from doing my own experimentation.
Also, you can't compare Xbox Live to anything else and PS3 will never have an online experience comparable to it as you can ONLY talk to your friends on PS3 if you are gaming on the same game with them (although PS3 is dropping 'Sony Home', we'll see how that plays out, looks cool actually). Xbox Live allows you to talk to your friends outside of even playing a game including downloading a whole bunch of cool shit from the Xbox Live marketplace. Yeah, some things cost money, but hey, why would anyone here on this forum be into VIP if they can't afford some cool entertainment? Right? Right.
And you say the PS3 has "awesome games that are worth a crap"...reality check, 99% of the games available on the 360 have also been ported over to the PS3 (and vice versa). So game selection is NOT an issue here. And I believe that, of my friends who are sports fanatics, all of them play sports games on a 360. Serious.
PS3 IS cool, no doubt. But for my gaming and Windows Media Center compatibility, Xbox is the way to go. So the original poster of this thread (//935GS400), when the time comes again, just add a PS3 to your arsenal. But honestly, my Xbox gets played for the majority of those 60 hours a week I invest into it. Maybe 3 of those 60 hours are invested into my PS3 (unless I'm watching a Blu-Ray dvd).
(And in the words of my gf, "Madden is not serious gaming, pffttt").

hahahahah madden may not be serious gaming but to any red blooded male its a serious game!!! hahahahaha your points are valid crash but when you get right down to it.... how much did you spend on your ps3, and how much did you spend on your 360 to make it have all the same features as the ps3? you had to buy the OPTIONAL hd-dvd player for it correct or did you not get it? which comes already as a standard feature in the ps3, blu-ray really since that's the format that won and well microsoft couldnt get on board hahahaha, now if you paid less than the ps3 to get it to have all the same features..... i would be not just surprised but also demanding to see receipts hahahahaha. I'm a Sony PSx for a reason. You cannot beat the backwards compatibility of their game systems. I have original playstation games as well as various ps2 games that i still love playing and its all made possible by the fact that sony may stop making the games for the new version console but they are still playable due to the fact they they set out to build an empire...... yeah the 360 may or may not be better i've heard compelling stories for both sides of this argument from not only gamer friends but from friends that work for various companies that are indirectly "affiliated" to the manufacturing of these systems.... and i know why the 360 failed after launch. ...... hahahahahaha

never bought the optional hd-dvd player for the 360 as I didn't find it necessary since I've got my PS3 for my movie viewing (and I knew Blu-Ray would be taking over).
Accessories aren't necessarily "features." Accessories are just fun things to add on. I bought both a wireless headset (more like a bluetooth headset) for both my PS3 and my Xbox 360 which both came out to $60 (so those prices evened out). Got the wireless keyboard (with drag mouse) for my PS3 to browse the internet ($50 on sale). Got the attach-to-controller texting pad for the 360 ($30 from Best Buy). Play-and-Rechargeable battery packs for both of my 360 controllers (came out to $40 for both from Fry's). Recharge cable for my PS3 controllers (a whopping $20 for one from GameStop, which is really too high for one thin cable).
Prices for my consoles - $250 for my 2007 manufactured Xbox 360, $350 for my 2008 manufactured (Falcon-chip equipped) Xbox 360 - $400 for my 80gb PlayStation 3 (got it from a girl off of CraigsList, she really could've gotten more, oh wellz for her).
There are various reasons why it was said that the Xbox 360 "failed after launch" but the reality is, the Xbox 360 is currently still the most purchased and played console out. And both of my Xbox's (Falcon and non-Falcon equipped) have not failed on me. Gotta know how to take care of your ish! And it IS true, Xbox 360 games are equipped with better graphics and smoother gameplay than most of the ports on PS3. It may switch up in the future, but this is how it is now.

the reality of why the 360 failed is in one or more components on the main boards were bad, they had a failure rate of about 73%, which microsoft would have caught in quality control inspections had they not been in such a hurry to come out to market a WHOLE YEAR before the ps3, so yes they have sold more but because they have had a whole year advance time, yes if the ps3 had been impressive enough it would have outsold it by now, but the fact that it costs more and isn't too far behind in sales despite the year jump the 360 has is impressive alone. if we want to base it on sales alone then the wii is hands down the winner and you and i are debating over first loser awards.

In all honesty, i'd say go for the PS3. If your into HD movies, the PS3 offers blu-ray, which is now the only supported HD platform. Developers are now realising that to get the most out of the ps3, they will be developing with it first, then porting to 360. Home will offer a good amount of what LIVE does, but LIVE will probably still be better for the time being. The Playstation store offers more of a variety and quality games compared to 360. This is due in part that developers have to limit themselves on what they can develop for 360 and how big of a game they can make.
Allowing the ps3 to connect to your PC is simple as well and doesn't take to much effort. I know it'll be a moot point, but with the ps3, you wont ever have to send it the shitty microsoft customer service due to Red rings. 08 is the year for ps3 and I believe you'll see it as the year progressess.

As I said, I haven't had to send either one of my Xbox's in (and one is not equipped with the cooler-running Falcon chip). I really and truly believe it is all in how you take care of your stuff. Good ventilation, don't leave it on unnecessarily long, yada yada. I was a HARDCORE PlayStation fan since the first PS (including the PSP). But ever since I got my hands on the Xbox, I can't put it down.
When it comes down to it, Xbox and PlayStation need eachother and feed off of eachother. I do not believe Xbox will be shut out of the game anytime soon...and I'm willing to put money on that.

I have both, I prefer the controls for sports games on the 360 but the graffics for the PS3. Its a toss up. 360 has a loooot more game selection but PS3 will be catching up within the year i predict.
And the new Gran Tourismo for PS3 is AMAZING!

Dude, as of now, the graphics on the PS3 aren't better than the 360. Buy a few of the same games for both consoles and do your own side-by-side comparison on an HDTV like I did and you'll see what I'm talking about.

If sports is any different, I wouldn't know. *shrug*
But RPG's and FPS's are graphically better on the 360. Don't know why.

I dont have any of the same RPG's for both systems as those are usually different for the good ones on each system. I might have to go rent assassins creed for 360 so I can compare.
