21/22" Wheels on '02 F50 w/ Stock Suspension?

I'm wondering if anyone has done this before, and if so, what the results were. I know bagging the car is usually a must when you want nice stance, but I'm in a situation where I need to keep the suspension stock. I'm wondering if a set of properly sized/offset 21" or even 22" wheels would fill out the wheelwells and sit flush on a stock suspension F50? The car is an '02 w/ factory sport suspension. If anyone happens to have pics, that would be a huge plus. Thank you for the help!!

there is someone with an 05+ with the updated body with 22"  but I forgot if he had suspension.  It fits but I think the car sat higher.

i believe the specs on those puppies were:
 
f: 20x9.5JJ, +25mm, O-disk
r: 20x10.5JJ, +30mm, O-disk

I hope you plan to radius the fenders or it'll be 4x4 action...seriously.  Plus they seriously look too big..22" is like DUB style...borderline Donk.

The OEM brakes suck balls.  22's are not going to help unless they are super light weight.  I would look to upgrade the brakes before doing this.  Good luck

yeah anything over 20 you gotta upgrade the brakes. not many options either. look forward to 4 grand for the fronts. for some reason i only can find rotors up to 14 or so inches. i was hoping for a 6 piston 15 incher down the road.

we need to figure out which car brakes fit ours.  I want to try some of the R32-33-34 or possibly one of the year Zs.   I'm thinking that if anyone makes for the M35/45 brakes it might work.

well theres a few options, its just all are expensive except megan racing. i like endless and brembo. both are 3-4 grand. i really want 380 or 405 rotors though. all the aftermarket ive seen comes with 355mm(14 inches) for f50. :sad: 

theres plenty of g35/350z brake upgrades for cheap its just a matter of making sure it works properly. i dont wanna guinea pig that lol i already had 1 crazy accident related to mechanical failure. skidding on your undercarriage without your rotors is not fun.

also i would love to see those 22's on widebodyq's car. i think with the air,fender radius, camber adjustment and all that the rims would look more at home. but without all of the above, 22's look donk. also your steering,suspension, and brakes will hate you for it.

If JDM wheel companies would make 22's with lips bigger then 104mm, I would consider doing a  22" setup.  I would have to be really really bored with the car if it ever gets to that point lol

22x11.5, -2mm, HI-disk, 147mm lip (5.49 inchs!)
22x12, +5mm, LO-disk, 147mm lip

Brembo 14" rotors under 20" factory alloys fit quite well. I'm building a rear Brembo kit using 13.6" rotors. Took me a while to build this kit as finding the info and the right caliper to maintain proper front to rear proportioning was nearly impossible without having to spend a fortune. Putting bigger brakes doesn't make a car slow down faster unless the proportioning is correct. I've seen some braking distance increase because of improper setup.

Thank you very much for your help guys, I really appreciate all the input. Sorry Mikey, but I'm not the guy you think I am, I work in the IT industry. But I still want to say thanks for the pictures. The pictures from cardomain showed me that this is not the best idea if I want a nice stance. I'm definately not going for DUB or Donk. The idea of running 21's/22's came from one of the japan VIP Car magazines I have, there was a feature on a red Aristo with 22's and I thought it looked great. But for me to pull it off nice, looks like I'll need to modify the suspension. The wheels I was considering were the Amistad Klaud PF21's. The reason I'm concerned about modifying the suspension has to do with someone I know that recently got screwed over big time for having bags. He got in an accident, the cops declared his car unsafe due to bags, then the insurance co refused to pay even though he wasn't at fault (citing unsafe vehicle). So he was out alot of $$ for no good reason, got me thinking twice about bagging the car (or even modifying the suspension). The other reason is the warranty from the dealer, didn't want to compromise the free service. I'll be honest I'm supprised that this question brought up concerns about braking capability. Considering that I don't do anything performance related with this car, I was caught a little off guard. But I know you guys know your stuff, so this is something I'll have to research. Thank you again for your help guys!

That car had seriously radiused fenders...which is why it didn't look so Magoo.  Anything over 20's NEEDS radiused...or the stance will never be what it could...and the braking concerns are founded.

19 or 20s.  dont get 21/22. looks way toooooooo biggg for the car.

Since I talked with a few of you on that last cruise and found out bagging the car won't void the warranty, I decided to get a set of smaller wheels. I ended up getting a set of 19x10 Wald Duchatelet's (not staggered). Thanks for your help on this guys.

stick to 20", it is perfect for f50......schwert sc3 hint hint.

21 and 22 will look OK I guess, but keep in mind the tires will cost you a grip.

Right now, I personally favor the Auto Couture Empress over the wheels mentioned in this thread.
 
I dont plan on purchasing wheels until the winter but I will look into every option.  Thanks
