19x10 with a 215/35???

I'm getting the run around with a guy selling me a set of staggered wheels. 19x8.5 front and 19x10 rear.

I was going to get a package deal from him but he keeps trying to hustle me on it. Every time I call I have to rethink things cause its always a different sales rep with a different price. Today I got a hold of the guy I originaly spoke to that gave me a great deal and now he added $900 bucks on the deal!

I'm going to get the wheels alone at this point cause he cant deny the advertised price on that so now I have to get the tires myself.

I was thinking of the Federal SS-595 in 215/35/19 cause I know I need the extra space with that stretch anyway. Would this work well?

I'm not worried about the front being a 8.5 cause thats what I have in 20's so would it make sense or not to go with a 215 in both front and back?

Do you really need all that stretch? I personally wouldn't go lower than a 225 on a 10.

Yup. Factory offset is 46. I was hoping to find a higher side wall in a 215 but I read the Federals run pretty big so that is why I am contemplating this set up. I cant pull my fender either cause of the rear door being part of the fender instead of flowing around it and I wanna go very low.

I dont want just looks!

I have been working with this car for so long now as far as a good wheel set up goes since it has a rare 5x108 pattern and a high offset.

the other problem with the package is that they wont go any lower than 275 so I figure I may as well get the tires myself since I will need something stretched.

In the fitment thread a 215 don't seem bad with some brands.

how does the factory high offset have anythig to do with what size tires you run on your new low offset wide wheels? what kind of car is it?

i really wouldn't want a 215 on a 10".

Its a Lincoln LS.

If I go with a lower offset on a wider wheel and drop the car really low you mean to tell me that tire size wont help rubbing issues? Isnt that the whole point to stretching, and pulling fenders and rolling fenders and all those neat tricks to get to that right spot?

I want a agressive offset and drop on a car with a 46 offset.

If you are telling me to go with a 225, cool I can do a 215 front and 225 rear no problem I guess. Sounds more logic:biggthumpup:.

I think you need to do more research. I don't see what 46 offset has to do with stretched tires unless you have a 35mm spacer.

46 isnt not the offset I am going with. That is the factory offset. I am going down to about a 36 or more with a 10" wide wheel on a car that rubs with a 8.5" wide wheel and 245/35 tires when lowerd enough.

Here is a shot of one without being lowerd yet with the wheels I am getting. I wanna tuck with minimal negative camber.

Thanks.
This is a funny car to work with and I really dont have much room at all inside the fenders.

225 it is. I wanna tuck some tire but keep the rim flush.

High offset = less stretch if none at all ...

If you have close to 0 or - then yea but nothing less than 225 ... other wise can't seat the bead ...

the only reason why you would stretch a tire is to help clear the fenders...

since you want to tuck w/o camber and don't want agressive fitment, just throw some 255's on there...

What size tires are on those rims you pictured?

With lowering, the camber 'should' clear, but then you may just need to slice the fender or roll it, it should be fine on the tires you pictured. anything smaller is not really needed. I'd run a 255 like Dennis said.

The wheel in the picture above will tuck when you lower the car so you should be good

Ok I was a bit confused. I was thinking since I am going with a lower offset in general I might need to stretch even if its not 0 or negative. I see alot of people with rubbing issues on a Lincoln LS forum if they go much further down than 46 offset with most wheels and tires they use.

See I am hopeing to find just that right fitment. When I put on some air bags I wanna have the rim flush with the fender but I only want to tuck tire so I thought a stretch would be needed for that as well with just a bit of camber incase I hit a fair size bump so the rim dont whack the fender.

Lets just say some dirt cheap Forgelines. Are those ones you are selling 5x108?

Put it this way, if I go with the Federals that I want to toss on it will fall under that price. I will check out that thread so I can see what they llok like . I Might just like them more you never know=p

Those are 275's!. I am going to roll the fender but I really only have about 3"-4" to have to roll since they way the fender and door are made. Like I said the door is part of the fender ( cuts down the middle ) and it dont flow around the fender so that part is allready rolled.

Im hopeing when I get bags I could sit it on the ground. That and a realy good fitment is all I want at this point.

I mean I want to ride low as hell but I want to park lower=)

This is my first project outside the circle if you know what I mean. I had a couple nice cars left in specs but I want to push this one as far as possible just like everyone here ( well just about everyone else:biggthumpup: ).

Besides I got a Highlander now for a daily till I can get the hang of this and it sure as hell helps save cash with this gas situation. I just wish the financee/ fiance would let me fit some Shallens on it...lol!

this is correct, definitely get the rims first, test fit them on the car then determine what tires and how much stretch youll have to run. this will save you money and get you the best fitment

OK, I put springs on last summer that gave me 2"'s of drop and had some issues with a 245/35/20 20x8.5 +45. That still only barely tucked the tire.

Until I can find someone to make some kind of adapters for coil overs or something unless I get my bags asap ( not gunna happen ) I really cant do it that way. I know that is the best way to go. I just wanna get these wheels before they are gone cause I wont be putting them on for a few months.

I guess I could just buy the rims now and wait till I lower it more but I know with even just springs it rubbed with that last set up. And springs are all they make for this car.

Are you keeping the 8.5 in the rear ? the 245 tire on that is too huge .. step it down

But if your going a 10 in the rear test fit first ..

Im not keep ing that size in the rear. Im going with the 19x10 in the rear.

What I had previously like I just spoke of was a 20x8.5 I thought that tire was just right for a conservative way of doing things pluss I didnt calculate things myself. I went to a local corporate owned wheel shop and that is what they recomended and they would only put that size on. If I were to go with a different size they would only order the wheels and tires but I would have to mount them or find someone else.

Now Im trying to build something with some inspiration from this scene and I decided the only way its going to happen is to make these judgments myself and ask the wheel fitment pro's ( VSC ) for advise.

when you get the wheels you dont need your suspension. all you need is to throw the car on jack stands and put a jack under the rear LCA and jack the wheel into the wheel well. that will tell you what you need to do
