Where to buy y33 ABS Sensors for less than stealership costs...

Pretty straight forward.  Mine were no transferable to my coilovers and I want that function back on my car.  Please let me know if anyone has any leads.  Not wanting to pay $550 for 2 sensors......

check the local pick and pull junkyard...that'd be your cheapest option...

y33s are a rare ass car around the seattle area, Ill have to check the junk yard when I am down ion Phoenix next month, I see y33s everywhere when I am down there.  And they also are VERY hard to get out of the factory struts.  Mine were fused in (melted plastic) when I finally gave up and just busted them out.

they are not designed to be removed only installed.  I buy all my OEM parts from an online source. PM me and I'll give you the web address.

Someone who live in a city where water is cover the road way 9 months out of the year....  I didnt have it on my GTI, but also had Porsche Cayenne Brakes on there.  It stopped fast.  The Q... Not so much.

Qclass, your stupid.

this seems to be a common breakage when people have to take off their struts or susp. components. 

the PROPER way to do it is to dis-connect the abs wire up at the harness,  and NOT at the spindle. You would then run the wire down leaving it connected to the spindle. Most people end up yanking it off the spindle.

find a used set on ebay if u can, not worth the price new. My mechanic found a set in a few days when he broke my set on my former y33. I was surprised at how fast he found a used pair.

I was installing coilovers, so they had spindals that didnt have sensors.  They are your old Coils Qclass.

If I didnt have to drive in heavy ass traffic and the pouring rain all the time, Id have big brakes and disconnect my ABS for good, but In standing water ABS can be a life saver...

um...i drive in snow, and rain with no ABS, in tokyo traffic

right, my sensors were removed from the coilovers for obvious reasons, I need to keep a pair. However they were removable without breakage because they were only installed a year ago and well lubricated. This allowed it to be removed without any breakage.

the sensors break because they have no more lubrication and just basically snaps.

Yeah they were fused into my factory shocks.

there's a chance that other nissan abs sensors may fit your y33, I think any nissan with spindle and has abs will work.

Really.  Ill have to try and shop around.  A place mentioned above does have them for $120 a piece.  Now too bad, but anything cheaper And still a factory part sounds better to me.

I know a shop with a few defunct Infiniti techs.  Ill stop by sometime this week if I get to that side of the water and see if they have any leads or ideas.

I've had my Y33 for just over a year now... in portland, OR area... the ABS and traction control both didn't work when I got it and they still don't. I prefer it that way. That way I can initiate slides with the breaks and it the car doesn't cry about it, just slides on smoothly.

Ya, I know how to drive without ABS and traction control, but this car really doesnt get tossed around that much.  Just cruises.  More or less I will be selling the car within the year and i want to sell it with everything as it should be.

yo golfkid.   Did you ever get my pm?  I got a pair of ABS sensors that I just pulled off with out any problems at all.  Nothing melted, nothing broken and are clean.  I can send you pictures if you want. Let me know.
