lookin for approval

hey everyone, Ive been a member and looking around the site and reading as many threads as possible. I've seen a lot of good looking and clean cars and would like to be able to have more access and ability to add input in other forums. I have an 03 q 45 and I'm hopin to bring it up to quality VIP status with the help of this forum and it members. If someone wants to promote me from vip-in-training to the next level of activity on these forums, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks hope to post and take part in more soon!

what do you plan on doing?

thanks everyone, I got the car in the middle of march and first thing I wanted to do was tint out the windows. I didn't go green and I didn't go to dark kept it close to legal for mass laws. after window tint was done I got license plate protectors and looking to get vip slanted bracket eventually. I plan on getting curtains for all sides and rear, right now I am looking into rim options and trying to figgure out what I want to go with I'm thinking 19's or 20's chrome or polished with a big lip and hopefully stretched tires (love that look when they are pushed to the limit). I am also currently trying to purchase some puddle lights to go underneath and light up with the courtesy lights and the jdm cima grille. I want to get atleast a muffler if not a more thorough exhaust system. And maybe by the end of summer get a body kit not sure which one yet I have a while to choose. Any input and comments are welcome. I will try to get some pictures up and posted of what I have and what I do as I do it.

Welcome to the site.  There are not that many F50 owners on here but the ones that are on here are all cool guys.  THere are a few guys in your state that are active on this forum.  Good luck

Oh and a little about me, I am a college student going for mechanical engineering degree. I live in massachusetts not a typical VIP tuning area but I am hoping to start getting people into it, anyone around that wants to meet up and start having meets or rides im down for that. I work two jobs mon-fri fund accountant when im not in school and weekends I work in a kitchen at a golf course. I've had a few cars most recently I had a dark blue 97 max that started me on my VIP addiction. I did a lot of mods including semi infinity i30 conversion and I still have it to tinker with I do love the A32 but I wanted to move on to real VIP platform and rear wheel with my new car. I will post up some pics of my a32 when I have time, maybe now tat its not my daily driver I can start to do more to it like black-on-black's or washira's a32's I think they are some of the smoothest vip styled a32's I've seen.

widebody if im not mistaken that looks like a jdm infiniti hood ornament, what type of car do you have I think I came across pics of your ride on here before but can't find them right now. and does anyone know any of the guys driving f50's in new england area I would love to see some of their rides. Well hope to keep this going I gotta go cook up some dinner but I'll check back in.

welcome, I'd say focus on good drop and 20" wheels. worry about curtains and small stuff later.

Any good sites to post pics on so I can put them on here? And on the drop I really want to look into it with a lot of detail, because I dropped my a32 and it turned into a load of trouble and expenses, not sure if I'm ready to drop my ride yet. Any suggestions on best way to drop and keep comfort near stock and be able to handle new england roads year round would be greatly appreciated. My A32 was dropped on K-sport coilovers and dropped almost all the way wrecked some rims and ran into axle problems and then had to replace all the adjustable struts after 2 years or less. Drop still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, workin on convincing myself of a better way to drop because I do love the look, and hate riding a car that sits as high as a crossover or smaller suv.

Its actually the President hood emblem.  My car is under construction as we speak though but in a month or two, your more then welcome to come check it out.  Are you on any other Q45 forums?

nice introduction. let me give you a couple options/pointers:
 
1) as much as i love my a32 (thanks for the shout out btw) i would keep that up and running because once you get into this vip thing you can expect for your f50 to spend some time down getting worked on. the maxima would make a better daily/back up. but hey, i can't be the pot calling the kettle black so if you ant to put in some work on it GO FOR IT! i'll be happy to assist you in any way i can.
 
2) you seem to be focused more on the finishing touches of vip than the core values. its easy to be attracted by the curtains and puddle lights but this thing is really about fitment and stance. not dogging you, just letting you know ahead of time (you will figure it out on your own when the time is right, or maybe you already have). i say don't jump in too fast buying up all the little things. take your time, research, and plan and make those big crucial purchases first. you can eat up your funds pretty quick buying high dollar accessories when what you really need is some nice wheels and suspension.
 
i'd like to see pics of your maxima, there aren't to many i haven't seen but yours doesn't sound familiar.
 
also widebodyq's f50 has a president front end conversion, thats what the emblem is from. if theres somebodies footsteps you want to follow in, agi's are them.

dropping the f50 is nothing like dropping the a32. just be ready to spend more money on quality parts than you were before.

Black and widebody thanks for the input and suggestions. Much appreciated. When I listed off what I plan on doing there wasn't to much order, first thing will be nice rims I'm putting tax return and some other funds towards them hopefully I will be getting them end of May early June. after that will start research on suspension and I know this is not going to be a cheap biuld. Any input on suspension what works and what doesn't on an F50 will be appreciated. I will prob start a new thread for all that info. Right now I'm setting up a cardomain site so I have a place to host pictures to post up. hopefully I will get some up tonight to bad its raining and wet but I'll atleast have some basic pics to show. And I do plan on keeping the A32 running and road worthy right now it just needs a lot of little work that I dont have time to do while its on the road. I'll post some of those pics also.

I look through the Nico forums a little, but this is the one I'm usually on any suggetions would be taken as to more forums. I still go on maxima.org but not to much. And widebody good luck with the president conversion I think I've read up a little on it and its very expensive but also looks very very very nice. cant wait to see some pics of the finished work.

sounds good. widebody would be the man to talk to about f50 suspension as he has gone through some trials and tribulations to get where hes at now.

stock and ugly as ever. lol jk. i just have this thing where stock  f50s and y34s look bad to me unmodded but then they undergo a miraculous transformation into some of the sickest vip platforms. its like the caterpillar into a butterfly.
 
your max needs some love as well, but a little will go a long way.

blackonblack you said it perfectly but summers coming and this is the time when catterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies. max had a rough couple of months ended up spinning out in th snow and crashing into the woods as a final closing push that brought me to the Q but i think it will become my pheonix and my Q my butterfly. hopefully! thanks for the input and i agree the stock Q leaves lots to be desired.

they are Platinum Shields I have a connection at a local store that will allow me these with tires mounted and balanced for just under 2000. I know they aren't the typical wheels that VIP cars get but they do look very nice and I think they fit my car rather well.any and all opinions are welcome

Let me start off by saying welcome to the fourms you have a good platform to start off with but no disrespect but those wheels look cheap and way DUBISH. but it's your car none of us are paying for your parts. But just reliaze that wheels and suspension is a major part of VIP. Good luck with your build up.

the for sale section has lots to choose from adnw tih the offsets you want ... hell even a guy named Blitz has a pair or wheels for you ... 2500+ ?  rims only but they are sick and should look very nice

yeah bro... hold off on those wheels. way to cheap looking. the fs section is kinda slim pickins right now but keep your eyes peeled. the vendors might also have a nice gd or sale going you could get in on. this is what i was saying about taking your time and making the right purchases. on the other hand 2k is a set of jics or air ride. :giggity:

OK well I am holdin off for now dont know when I'll get my wheels got a couple things I gotta work on. Someone knocked my zx6r over down at school so I gotta spend money on that soon for now. And as for the wheel sale forum I have had a hard time finding wheels so far. dont think I wanna go with JIC's I would rather get some air or other type of coilover.
