Where did you come from?

Not meaning what state or country you're living in,but what "car scene" did you come from before you discovered VIP.it seems we have a lot of "retired" drfiters and street racers.as for myself I can't say I came from the drift scene because I wasn't that good at it.maybe Its because i was too scared to lose my car.anyways,I made this thread because I'm bored at work and just curious.

I have just always liked LOW cars. Never got into racing (cept a few back street runs with friends to see whose car was fastest), never felt i needed to have the fastest car. I just loved that "damn that SOB is on the ground" look. Especially with luxury cars... Something about the extravagance of ruining an expensive car with irreversable mods or turning the undercarriage into minced meat that i love...

I came from the JDM Honda scene. My brother was stationed in Japan and he kept telling me about these cool Lexus and Nissans dropped with some really nice wheels, he would send me pics and from then on I was hooked!

turbo DSM's, which i'm still involved in, also off roading, i have an 02 grand cherokee overland, lifted, mud tires, etc.
i had an LS back in 2000, which i kitted lowered, 18's (weak ass offset!), tv's, etc. i had no idea vip even existed back then but i guess modding a lexus that way seemed to make sense to me, esp. since i'd never seen anything like it done before. yeah, it sucks living in KY....

American. I was an outcast, doing body mods, cutting up body kits, Projector retro fits back in the early 2000's. Half the forum I was on though it was rice but I had a strong cult following that loved it to death.

i was originally into Lowriders from when i was a kid. When i reached high school i got into the honda scene and stuck with it up untill 2006 , found out about VIP style and started to read mags whenever i could find them. I wanted to VIP "style" my UA5 TL but that failed and so did the transmision ...haha , then "tried" to get into the drift scene , had a zenki s14 , cressida , then realized it wassnt for me. Later bought a bagged blazer that put me through hell and back. Finnally sold the blazer couple of months ago and got enough money to buy a lexus and here i am today with my ucf10 happy as a mofo!

Im orignially from the old school imports scene. Back in the day circa 1995, when everyone first started to dump thier civics and tegs. Went from clear outs and sho gun kits to circa 2000 when c-west and erebruni were the hot shit. I knew a little about vip back then, but could never afford anything that baller. Now, ive gotten a lot older and can afford nicer things. Thus I had the means to join the VIP scene,...lets see how this new scene develops.

Started with the JDM Honda scene, After that blew up I got sick of everyone with the same F ing wheels, Switched over to old school bugs cause they could get lower then any civic. When I went and visited japan I saw some sick magazines and not to mention the sick ass taxis, I was hooked every since.

my motto and guideline when it came to buying my first car... "nothing touches my ass but leather"

i never liked those rice rockets all the typical asian kids got. i always have been into grandma cars since young.

grew up later on and found out all the style of cars i liked are gangsta ass shit.

I started off modifying my DOHC Neon in HS(don't flame me, parts were cheap and it was fun and loud). I kinda got into a little bit of street racing with it, but then I started getting into Euro cars, bought two VW Corrados and modified them quite a bit. Sold one of them and kept the other.

I've always been into big luxury cars and have always wanted to modify them. When I first heard about the VIP scene two years ago I fell in love with this style. Now I'm coming down to San Diego tomorrow to work for the summer and I will finally be in a financial position to go ahead and purchase a nice Lexus GS or LS. Haven't decided yet...

I've been everywhere. lowriders to hotrods, to Ricky Racer stuff trucking and minitrucks, I still love every facet.

Never really street raced, i wasn't into the whole "be loud and obnoxious" part of Import Tuning.

I always loved luxury cars, and when i found out there's a styling that caters to it, i was hooked.
