That sucks. It was a clean e36 too. Do those 20in+ daytons still use regular adapters with knock-offs? If so, im sure that contributed to that.

wires=low riders
anyway, that's wild. That guy is CRAZY lucky. The tool driving the other car should be sued...hard. He just didn't fasten his wheel nut hard enough, that sucks. I've seen stuff like that happen before with stock wheels. not enough lugs fastened and BLOOP! back of the car goes flying into the air and spins out. wheel goes bouncing around the highway. scary to say the least.
again, glad he's alive, that could have easily killed him.

man that sucks. i remember the first time i saw how knock offs were mounted. that s**ts just a bad idea from the get go.
i don't really think that the owner of the other vehicle is to blame. well, its very POSSIBLE that hes not. i would be focusing my efforts at the maker of the wheel and/or whoever mounted it. just a horrible design and no real way to ensure proper torque (if that would even make a difference).

wow!!
The knock offs were most likely put on backwards :(
hit the brakes and it feels like the car is in a 15.1 earthquake.....ask me how I know LoL!!
glad he's ok...sucks for both of them

?? 20"+ wires on lowriders? Maybe I'm not hip with the modern low rider scene. It was always 13"-15" for the most part. At least as far as true low riders are concerned. Has it evolved into big diameter wheels now? If so, I had no idea they do that now. (I even mentioned it in the bottom of my original post)

Some of the Low-Rod (low rider/ hot rod mix) guys do 20"+ wheels. I learned that from Vida Guerra on the "Low Life" :smiley-rofl:

I used to have a lil green, S10 blazer on Daytons.=) I bought them from a guy n my highschool parking lot. The adapters fit, so we put them on that day at lunch. NOBODY payed attention to the fact that knockoffs ARE directional!:pat:
pulled outta the parkin lot with my girls and tried to stop at a red light and the truck shook like king kong picked it up:smiley-rofl: seriously, ive never felt anything like that....its IMPOSSIBLE not to notice the knock off styled rims lose b4 they come off.
almost lost my first set of triple gold ones :sad:

Yeah, that sucks, BUT, could have happened with any wheel. It just happens to be this one. Did they find the car that the wheel fell off of?
This is why we have insurance...though I wonder what they'll do about it being an aftermarket wheel.
Cheap wheels=cheap insurance.

Looks like a broken lower ball joint. Most 2nd gen GS's will have this happen if it's not corrected with new ones.
