what is rap today?   It's all club now.  catchy beats and lyrics.   Soulja boy...puke.   I don't know how many other crap that's been coming out.    I played  '93 til inifinity and my 10 years younger employee said "wtf"   LOL Now I know I'm old.

NO. Tupac did not create, nor end, hip-hop/rap. He was an artist, he had movement in the scene, but he was not God when it came to the genre of music. There are many before, and after, who have equally good music. 
 
There are SOME good artists around. Most good stuff nowadays IMO, is underground. Which is good. 
 
The people in this video though, is what I feel is portrayed in the music industry today....slang so outta control that it just sounds like you are uneducated, no catchy lyrics, no thought put in the song. Have someone bang out a catchy-ish beat, most of which sound like they were made on a 10 dollar keyboard you can get from Toys R Us, throw some stupid dance routine into it and sing about it, or sing about how you've got money, you are a gangstar from the hood, or just think you are so damned cool. Music isn't deep anymore, doesn't have meaning like it used to. 
 
I mean, really, " we like uhhhh cuz we don't deal no mo" wtf does that mean, you are sad because you aren't making any money anymore or what? It doesn't even make sense!
 
At least artists, like Tupac, used grammatically correct language most of the time, when he spoke, flowed, yelled, you would still be able to understand the guy. 
 
Lupe Fiasco. Dude can rap. Sure some say his music is for puzzays, since he pushed positive messages, but it's damned better than most of what is out there today....
 
I don't know what to say. 
 
Hip hop is not dead, producers are just pushing out whatever they can to make a quick buck and bounce. 
 
There are plenty of well versed aspiring artists out there, hopefully some can make a come up without selling out or pushing out some stupid music.

Also as far as Atmostphere (slug) goes... he fell of awhile ago. I have always been a big fan of his but maybe I just grew out of his whining about girls and drinking too much :shrug: His new album only has one good song in my opinion.
