When in doubt poke um out
Hello all, I'm a new guy, ya. I purchased an 08 xB last winter and I'm getting divorced. No really, I bought it as a family car but I've had the bug to hook it up. I've always been a car nut, but since I've been married with kids it's kinda been put on the back burner. Ok I'm babbling, on with the xB. I purchased it with Trd wheels and I really never liked them too much. But I threw some Sprint Spings and rode for a while. I recently purchased some new XXR wheels( yes I know they're not some 3,500.00 JDM rollers but I'm not a baller or a single cat spending every last dime on my car, so they"ll ride. My next thing to do is some spacers to poke the back wheels out some more and adjustable struts to lower it a little more. I also plan on painting the center of the wheels gold and polishing the lips so they'll stand out. I have a few more plans like body kit, Struts, HIDs, and so on. Little by little. :naughty:By the way Ive seen some really nice, quality rides on this site.

Ya, they have that old skool five spoke look, that's why I am going to have them painted gold to give them more of an import style. Besides I don't really care for the gloss black wheels with the Black Sand pearl paint. On the same note the body style looks kinda hot roddish to me, so that's really why I chose the wheels.

I have a TRD exhaust and TRD intake for that year car. They are practically new with less then 20miles on them. The TRD intake is really nice and comes with new side intake grill and intake box. let me know

call me crazy, but i don't think that Cragar-SS style wheels belong on a box.
i'm not really feeling it, but to each his own.

it will be nice fitment when you drop and add a lil camber, not really feelin the wheel design..looks really sporty imo. It will look better when you drop and add cambarz

Don't paint them gold, go with a silver. It's a really sporty wheel, if you go with gold, you are just gonna look sportier.

I'm not sure I would go with silver or gold, I agree gold will be more sportier, but silver will definetly make it look like a mustang wheel.

Hey I appreciate the back up Bippu. I was reading the posts saying damn. But I'm painting the wheels Gold not the car. Not too much a fan of the Gold. I know they're different, but that's what I like. It's in need of a lip kit bad with more drop then they'll look more at home. I'll get a few more up close pics this weekend so the guys will have some more to rip on.:eek4wtf:

I think there mite be some misunderstanding... I'm not ripping on the rims I was just agreeing that they looked like the mustang rim that's all. I give major props for being different and the fitment is off the chain. If it was lowered more (like everyone else has said) and some camber the fitment would be nuts:biggthumpup:

I say don't worry about a lip kit, get it slammed first. Then you can work on the aesthetics like lip kits. Get it slammed so you know how much room you have to work with.

most of the members on the site will just give it to you straight, man. i may not be a fan of your wheel choice, but you did something truly different and i dig that.
(but if you think that we were harsh, what will the rest of the internet say? VSC members are some of the most polite people that i know of. )

I kinda like those new XXRs, for what they are. I'd rather recommend XXR to my customers looking for lip on a budget than Rota or Axis.

Just curious, but what makes these XXR's better than Rota or Axis?

Rota is blatant knockoffs. Like, 100% copies. I can't stand them one bit.
Sportmax rides the bandwagon, but they do have original designs. And they're dirty cheap.
Axis fronts as a high end brand, but still make blatant knockoffs, just more expensive.
That said, I wouldn't personally put any of them on
my ride, but since I do sell wheels to the biggest cheapskates ever, I don't bother with Axis, and I avoid Rota for personal reasons, which leaves XXR.

I see, though it sounds like you are using xxr as a reason not to sell axis or rota, although each makes a knockoff...
Start pushing MMR or herrorborani (sp) or cosmic or whatever that company is lol. at least they are somewhat original!

I think it's all in the design. I'm not too big on knock offs either, but this is the style wheel I liked. I know my ride is not VIP, nor am I trying to make it. I just like the way most of the cars sit and the offsets folks run on their cars on this site. IMO I think alot of the VIP bling (interior jewlery) is tacky, but to each is own. I'm actually gonna hook it up using a variety styles that I like to create my own. I look at it like this, there are some things that I feel shouldn't be cheapy, like body kits (fitment), paint job!!!!, and numerous other things. But I'll be honest these wheels aren't that cheap looking. Ya I know they're not some 3 piece HRE's or a set of Works, but I'm not trying to compete in any shows or top the other guy. I'm not for the cheezy rides out there(big wings on stock cars, ordinary wheel fitment), but I am for those who start there own style and ride with it. I love the camber look but I'll be damned if I'm buying a set of tires every 3 months. Bosssadler, they're 18x8 XXR 512 +15 offset 3" lip Falken Zeix 912 215/35/18.
