First experience with vip

Hey guys,
I just took my y32 out for the first time yesterday to go get insurance.
I quickly found out how much attention these cars recieve.
From the police in particular.
I have a bunch of tickets now and might need to sell my new baby.:signdammit:
This isn't as fun as I thought it would be.....

Dang man,

What did they pop you for? I hate the stupid things they come up with. I once got a ticket for my fog lights being too low to the ground. They needed to be 12 inches, the cop whipped out a ruler and measured 11. The damn things were factory and the car wasnt even lowered yet.

Yea....I dunno!

VIP cars usally get the opposite attention from cops.

Most won't pull you over because of the luxury status.........unless you were speeding, using the air while driving, tint, or somethin like that!

A cop once told me "I rather pull over a riced out car than a luxury car" hence one of the reasons I know own a luxury sedan

this is what i hope to avoid by going VIP. here is australia you get defected and need to go over the pits. with my current modified S13 Silvia, its got the guards cut out with wide fenders, full kit, 18x9.5-19 and 18x10.5-24 VS-XX wheels etc, and i am now scared to drive it anywhere cause ill never get the defect off!

im hoping with my GS i will avoid some of the attention. can you not just remove the illegal things? that is my intention, to have the most over the top mod to be the wheels so i can simply remove them if necessary to pass inspection.

in australia you wont get targeted unless your car is too low
my aristo is 102cm so that is legal, but my wheels have stretched tyres and hang out the gaurds by about 2 inches and they pull me up, see its auto and say nice car or just want to have a look.
and this car is my daily driver and goes all over south east qld
only fine i have received is having rego label in the wrong spot

He pulled me over for tinted windows, and then found out I didn't have insurance.

Here is the deal, before i can get the car insured I need the inspection, before I can get it inspected I need to get the japanese locked lug nuts off. I don't have the key. The car needs to be at the shop to get the right wheel key. Can't tow the car because it is too low. Have to drive it. Pulled over with no insurance on the way to the shop.

That is basicly what happened, he gave me a ticket for window tint, improper license plate on vehicle (because it hasn't been insured yet I couldn't transfer the plate over to the new car yet) and a ticket for no insurance. I got nailed hard. And then the cop insisted I wasn't going anywhere until the tow truck takes the car away. The tow truck driver said the car was too low and the cop said he didn't care, it was being towed one way or another. We had to raise the airbags fully and jack the car up on to blocks and remove the front bumper to lift the car with the tow truck. We had to remove the headlights and grill just to remove the bumper. And the tow truck bill was $300 as well.

What city you located?anwyas, wow cops must be real bored or absolutly jealous.check this story out.my counsins girlfriend said she was driving on the freeway maybe going 70-80mph, she didnt know because he speedometer lags.she was going side to side with another car until a cop pops up.again she was on the freeway and there was a cop with one of those laser guns, forget what it's called, and of course they pass the message and a cops waiting down 2miles or somewhat feet or yards away.she still going side to side with this car and the cop turns its lights on.these cops will just bust you for anything, instead of pulling both of them over he pulled her over.so they pulled to the side an he gives her a ticket for speeding and for her 3year after market exhaust because it was too loud for him.i guess the new laws are if its to loud for the cop its illegal it use to be different.so she went to get it inspected and get the ticket cleared.now why would they let the other car go because i rather pop you for having illegal stuff like you know anything you put on a car thats not factory.now check this out my cousin use to have a Chevrolet Xtreme s10 i think it was and he had neons, subs, cut exhuast, and dark tints.he got pulled over 547639692 times.what the cops say,"hey nice car can i see them with the neons one time?"and that was it.the same cop would pull him over just to see them.now aint that funny.i live in cali by the way we keep getting worser cops durning the day and they pop you for the stupidest things.well good luck with the fight most likely youll win or the cop wont show up if it's one of those where he has to.

Sound like some real bad luck. Im sure with a decent lawyer you should be able to get that taken care of. I have been in many situations like that before. We had all sorts of problems building the XA we did for SEMA. It wasnt a registerable car so we had to put plates on it and hope for the best to get it from shop to shop when a trailer wasnt available. If we got popped on that one it would have been bad, we would have had no proof the car was even ours.

I have had beeter luck than my friends with "import" style cars. With my bimmer, porsche and the M so far the cops havent really bothered me.

I have a friend that can't take his integra around the corner without a swat team, but when he gets in his M3 no problems.

i cant belive this is the cops fault....lol are you kidden me....

you got pulled over for somthing that was illegal and the cop hammered you for every other thing he had wrong.......i lack to see how that it the cops fault, seeing its not his fault your cars to low to get it on the tow truck to the shop..he was doing his job. There not one thing you said in that post that says the cops was wrong, but everything you said shows you were in the wrong and not abiding by the law......just because there VIP cars doesnt make them above silly infractions.
