Could this work? Grill for Y34.
I was thinking that I could have a body shop remove the infinti logo from my US grill.
Like this:
Im sure that the work could be done, but what im worried about is that I want it to be chromed. With it being plastic and most likely some filler etc itcould be and issue. I have seen this "spray on chome paint that looks like it could work, but I dont know anyone who has any experience with it.

when i tried to custom my grill down here without an emblem, the shops told me that you cant beat the stock vacuum formed plastic chrome, which costs a lot and they dont even have facilities that have the huge equipment here.
that spectra chrome is one of the best spray on chromes from what ive heard. havent seen it in person yet. good luck yo keep us posted

theres a guy on here who had his ls grill vacuum chromed. he didnt make it sound like it was too big of a deal. i don't know how that would work on body work but you might want to look into it.
i think the gloria has a no badge grill as well as aftermarkets.

Yeah but the problem with the aftermarkets and the gloria/cedric grills is that you need to change the headlights too. I know that one of the vendors takes a JP and cuts it up and puts it into the us frame, but it seems like a waste to cut up a 700 grill.
Ill see if this idea works out.

Trust me if there was a billet grill available that i didnt have to switch the headlights to make it fit i would be all over it. The Junction produce that the vendor makes fit is like 800-1000 so thats too much for a grill, vip or not. For that price i would switch the headlights and do a jdm grill.

i am yet to see a billet grill that does not look tacky. Again, its My humble opinion. Each person deserves to have his. If you want to put a biller grill on your car, then more power.
Just one of the few things u wont see on mine.

The JP billet grill is far from tacky.....the billet insert itself is about 4 times the thickness and weight of those generic billet grills. I think the JP looks the best, but I'm biased....

i agree with mark, that grill looks great and is in no way "tacky". I wish it wasnt such a pain and expensive to make it fit the us car. I may end up changing the damn headlight....arggggghhhh:pat:

Theres a black chrome treatment for normal chrome finishes. You coat the piece and let it drip off and then it evenly coats the whole thing with a black chrome finish. If you get the killer can spectra chrome kit and the black chrome spray (I think they have it on ebay) you can make that look %100. Don't forget to clear coat it when you are done.
