Finally bought Wheels, now need tires...
Editing this thread, everyone has convinced me to NOT run the original wheel I was looking at (TSW) so thats done - I bought the Carlssons WALD GS was selling, 2pc and sizes/offsets are:
19X8.5 +28
19x10 +35
Now I need tires, and size suggestions for front & rear. Sorry guys, but I build trucks for a living & cars are somewhat new to me, need your help!
Here are pics of the actual rims I bought:
And should look like this on the car, my 1st gen LS is two tone black, after the repaint it will ALL black:

dude delete that wheel right away from your list....
NO TSW around here...First why spend then money for now when you can save that money and get what you want.
I have learned the hard way so I can speak on experience.. Its just not worth it to spend your money on those and then save up for ones you really want..Plus there are a lot of used sets of great quality wheels on this forum that you will be more happy with..
Lets look at like this..VIP = Luxury and High Quality.
TSW = Low Quality
so if I was you I would just keep waiting..
My .02 cents.

I would also say wait, I have been so tempted to buy a "temporary" set of wheels, and (I know it's crazy talk) the knockoff Garson Kit for "temporary" purposes. deep down, I know that's not what I really want. $1500-$1800 on temporary items when another $500 or $700 will fulfill my needs....

I'm doubting the difference is that small but I get what you're saying.

The wheels on the Aimgain are Black-fleets
and they look 1000000000.... times better than the TSWs!
but people on here crack me up w/ there wishy washy comments!
For example- my homie C4president currently owns these TSWs on his Q45 and everybody is giving him propz for it (excpet me) but on every other thread about TSW folks are saying these are forbidden on VIP cars!
GEEZ! Make up your minds!
Personally IMO TSWs belong on Euros/VW & Audi
C4 president only bought them because he's cheap and couldn't pass up a sale on some $800 rims!
I say go black-fleet or Works or sumthin like that......
but also it's whatever makes you happy at the end of the day my friend!
Good luck.....BTW- what car is this going on?

I dont think the TSW is a bad looking wheel, its not what I really want but I could live with it for a year until some money comes in - $800 per set is a lot easier to settle than $3K per set. I prefer NOT to spend money twice but if everything works as planned then next year money wont be an issue.

I/E instead of buying a $800 set of wheels only to have to sell them to get another set, you could have had the money for some ballin higher quality wheels!
Jus gotta be patient and save!
As far as Marcus! IMO his stock wheels are 100x better than those!:pat:

Obviously the TSW wouldn't be my first choice but I can see what the OP
is trying to accomplish.... they actually aren't a bad wheel for the money.
Funny thing about doing "temporary" stuff like this... it seems when people
do this kind of thing the "permanent" wheels never materialize. Hey, stuff
happens... life happens. Maybe you knock-up your girlfriend or lose your job.
Maybe we check in with you two years from now and the "temporary TSWs"
are still on the car. You never know.
One thing nobody mentioned is the fitment of the TSWs.
They are not known for being very aggressive...
Then you'll have to spend more money on spacers to fix this.

Carlsson 2/6's staggered O.Z. Racing 19x8.5 and 19x10 - redrilled to fit the JDM lug pattern (5x114.3) and are staggered. front 19X8.5 (.5 inch lip)rims with +28 offset, rear rims are 19X10 (2.5 inch lip)and have a offset of +35
Would these be a good fit on a 1LS ? Will the redrilling weaken rim or drop value ?
Rims have been curbed, still look very repairable, does $1100 seem in line?
Not the actual rims, but these could be a permanent option... just worried about the redrill from MBZ pattern

Those arent bad, I just prefer a more solid face on the LS - whats funny is your LS was on my screen when my wife walked past, stopped dead in her tracks and said "lets sell the previa & buy one of those". This is all your fault! Had a set of canovers all lined up from another guy on this board & had to abandon the egg project because of your LS, I think you need to buy the MRR's and sell me your rims cheap!

Carlssons are pretty nice, but once you figure in refinishing/redrilling and some good spacers that puts you almost in the range of some in the varianza line or ame shallen line. But, if youre stuck on going used, id go with the carlssons. Have you considered looking on yahoo japan auctions or upgarage?

Already redrilled - just need edged repaired. I'm not stuck on used, just not a lot of newer stuff I like that I can afford. I dig the MMR -3's but no lip. I saw Elite selling the Lock Smice Dukes but after 10 calls & 4 messages with nobody answering or returning my calls, I've given up on those. I'd prefer something already here because shipping will likely kill the deal right now.

Wouldn't touch those Carlssons, it's design is so early 90's...
The finish is dull, you'll have to REfinish, you'll of course need spacers. I think for your own money, just save up.

Wouldn't touch those Carlssons, it's design is so early 90's...
The finish is dull, you'll have to REfinish, you'll of course need spacers. I think for your own money, just save up.
i love the carlsson wheels, but it depends on the color of the car. ive seen them on a silver Q and they looked dope. silver benzes look sick and black ones are ok with these.

tossed in an offer on the Carlssons, doubt it will go through but we'll see. I definitely wont be getting TSW's. If this doesnt happen I'll start pricing around the Black Fleets but guessing they'll be more than I paid for the car, if thats the case I start searching for used LH or varianza's
