F50 President Front with Bentley conversion

I wasnt going to post this but my car most likely won't be ready for the show that I was aiming for.  Its hard keeping a secret for about 2 months especially when your so excitted about it.
 
Anyway
 
This is how is started.  Took them a few days to come up with a game plan that would keep the car looking factory.  After that, they had to relocate the battery, modify the air box, create headlight brackets, modify the radiator support and extend the bottom of the fender about 2-3" each side (the part that lines up with the bumper)

The front is pretty much done.  They did an excellent job.  They kept the body line on the hood and the fitment is very tight.

My second body shop is going to be doing all the electric work and plastic work.  I dont know yet
 
Im not concerned about that but adjustments can be made if its way off.

Thanks guys. I just hope the bumper comes out how I want it. The whole car is getting changed up minus the roof and the quarter panels (I already did the quarter panels not to long ago). There is still alot of things that could go wrong but I put all my trust in these guys. Took them about 1 month of convincing and begging for them to even try this though :smiley-rofl:

Thanks.  I trust these guys with my life.  I actually paid more by going to them because they don't do custom work.  They are a regular auto body shop.  I don't want to get into what I paid because I dont want to come off like im being cocky but it wasn't cheap.  When its all said and done, it will be about 200 shop hours.  Custom body kit is in the works too.

Bentley GT/Flying Spur headlights. These lights are huge. Mercedes lights would look so tiny next to this huge hood/grill. Keep in mind how big the F50 headlights are and how small they look on the President front

Suprisingly it's not that expensive!
The lights New are about as much as Brand New Y33 HID Headlights!
he bought them used for a hell of a deal!
 
He told me all the money went into the install which that is the baller part!

Brand new, they are as much as 3 Y33 HID sets of headlights. When I told u what they cost new , I said thats how much they cost each, not total.  Also add a Bentley Wiring harness and HID's to that price.  But yes, I did get them for a great deal. Im getting charged $1k just to wire the headlights, fogs and side markers so that kind of evens out the fact that I got them so cheap.

I dont think im making HIN NY so there is no other reason for me to keep it under wrap. Its hard being without a car for so long. I was bound to snap and let the secret out.

Its going to be very different from the pic. First off, the headlights are bigger then they are in the photoshop but Mike just eye balled it when he made the photoshop. The grill in that photoshop was my idea too but that might be something I do down the line as a back up grill. Im still in love with the Maybach style President grill.
 
The bumper will be way different too. I like the look in the photoshop but im going for a more modern look. Some of you guys won't like it, others will love it. I just hope I love it because there is no going back at this point lol.

Theres a 25% chance I can have it done by HIN.  The actual conversion part is done but now they have to do all the electrical work, bumpers, etc.

Thanks, Im just trying to show the world that regular Joe's can do it too without being vendors or sponsored.
I have lots of respect for what Racinstylz did with his LS, nothing but props.  In no way am I trying to compete with anybody and I doubt he is too.  Plus he has a LS and I got a Q, its not like we have the same car or anything :shrug:

I have a set of 18's and a set of 19's that I keep switching up.
 
The car is being designed for 20's though.  The front fenders were slightly radiused and will have a nice Jaguar style arc like my rears.  Im not ready to get rims this moment.  The ones I really want are out of my price range plus I have no more room for rims.  I might be selling the 18's real soon though.
 
Now if more 21" wheels came in aggressive widths and offsets, I would go 21's.

  Finishing a car in one shot gets boring.  Thats why people sell their cars right after they are finished.  Im always trying to change things up so the excitement in the car is always there for me.  The down time of not having a car is what makes you appreciate the car much more.

You got those lights off CL right? I remember these being for sale there a while back. That's a damned good price you got them for.

Yes I did. One of my good friends who is a mod there, suggested someone on a local message forum that I am on, to use those for a retrofit.  He had no clue what I was cooking.  I had to scoop them up. I have been searching for those lights for a while and I could never find them in online junk yards or anywhere else. 
 
Im sure the owner of the Bentley that these lights came off of, is shaking his head :pat:

Yah, he'd been conjuring this up for a while now.  It's been in the works for months (nearly half a year actually).  Finding all the parts has been the biggest struggle.  If these highlights trip you out..man.  I'm not going to spoil it...

Wrd, Same as me...come out on top with no vendors or sponsors is the way to go.  Sponsors will ruin a car with thier "input".  I want to build MY car, not a company's ride.

Civics have been doing this stuff for a while now. The guy who is doing my custom kit has sc430 headlights and c-class benz tails on his accord lol. Although im not a fan, the work was smooth so I trust him.

Theres alot going on with the car besides the conversion. Hes a side profile view.

Moldings have been shaved off and welded shut (these moldings actually dig into the doors so the area had to be filled in.)
The door handles are Audi style where you dont have a body line around the door handles.
There is still alot more stuff thats going on, they are just not up to it yet

Fuck! that's a lot of work. But, it's going to be worth it at the end. :biggthumpup:

Fender flares?

No fender flares, everything is metal.  Reason for the bondo is to keep the conversion looking as smooth as possible.
 
My fenders were already pulled over 40mm

All 4 integra lights combined are smaller then the passanger side light.  These lights would also take up a good chunk of space in their engine bays

so you got new door handles?

i think you should get your mirrors chromed too. it just complements the grill so well.

I will be the first to say I'm not as "gung-ho" VIP as some on the board, despite have a 2GS with a VIP presentation...... HOWEVER, I just marvel at what you are doing to your F50.  Truly impressive and I have lost count how many times I have come back to look at this thread.
 
On a side note, I would just like to pay you a compliment and tell you that I really appreciate how you conduct yourself on the forums.  Your a gentleman and your forum etiquette does not go un-noticed.   Really appreciate your posts and the knowledge you bring to the boards.  Can't wait to see the process unfold on the "Presibent."

Thanks.  So far it is comming along as planned.  I was having second thoughts the first day I took the car in.  I actually went back to the shop the next day to tell them to hold off on the conversion but they had already began at that point lol.

I went to visit the car before heading to work and they already started priming it.  They are even repainting my rear bumper free of charge.  I might hold off on the custom rear bumper now so I can make this car show that I really want to go to.
 
The car minus the front bumper, should be painted and cleared by Saturday the latest.  After that, I have to take the car to the next shop which is a block away and they will start working on my front bumper and electrical work.

I wont judge the car until I see it with the tape off of the lights, the grill on and slammed.  I cant give the guys in charge of doing the work, enough credit.  I think I need to head over to the liquor store in the morning and get them a bottle since im sure they are relieved to be finished with this project.

They actually had to widen each side like 3 inches. U can tell in the head on pic.  They kept it clean though. 
 
The bumper that im using has to be widened and shortened. Lots of work left.

The shop that did the metal work, is a normal body shop. They dont do electrical work or plastic work. The next shop im going to, does custom stuff all the time. I just dont trust them as much with the paint and the metal work that the first shop is known for.

Someone asked why the fender/hood overlap the lights. Thats how they suppost to look. Its not noticeable when the bumper is there but thats how they look even on Bentleys. The acutal lights are flat and one piece and are designed to be over lapped

AHHH......that explains it then. Are you going to leave your mirrors silver or paint them your green color? Dude people are going to flip when they see your car driving around...

The real Bentley grill is smaller. To keep the factory body lines, I had to have them tilt the lights because the President grill is wider. Hope the pics help u understand why the lights are titled. Dont worry, I dont half ass anything, the cutoff will be perfect as well as the cut off on the fog projectors.
 
The lights dont turn on, my second shop is in charge of the electric work as well as the bumpers.
 
 
The bumper im using is a secret but its made out of plastic, its OEM and its real high quality. Its off of an 07 model German car.
 
(Its also on the upper left in the pic above lol)
 
 
 
 
The mirrors are not chrome, they were painted flat silver as well as the door frames and part of the fender vents to match the wheels. Im not too big on chrome anymore. The mirrors look nice in person, I will keep them as is but they still did not grow on me 100% yet. I can always paint them back, its not big deal

Nope not yet.  The inner mesh did not go in yet and neither did the turn signal winker (thats why there is a hole on top)

Even with sponsors people still have to pay.  I mean if a company ask you to promote a wheel for them you have a choice to say which wheel you want to promote.  Buying parts at discounted prices is what everyone get it at because nothing is free.

Sorry, no close ups on the vents until they are complete.  The side marker lights for the vents are not in stock, I have to wait longer for them.
 
THe bumper is comming out real nice.  Since im 2 weeks ahead of where I should be, im redoing my trunk as well.  Its going to be a custom Euro trunk for a Euro plate that reads "President"

Thanks.  It was really risky and what makes it even crazier is that the shop had never done a conversion like this before.  They did my rear end conversion and that was flawless so I knew they could pull it off if they took their time with it.  They are so nasty at what they do.  Not the cheapest body shop but they are worth every penny.

The only shop I use for metal work and paint is Nationwide Painting on Queens Bulivard (same block as Rayco).  Tell him Agi with the Infiniti sent you, and he will give you a better price.

its true, u can find good deals on paint jobs and interior work over in TJ, but sometimes if you don't know the guy or who your dealing with your car will end up getting jacked or even stripped off.

i can attest to this. me and agi were talking about this months (?) ago. here was my idea for the bumper to fit the ls lights, but he's too cool to take advice. :slap:

I gave your idea a second thought and it does work but I like the slants of the mouth portion of the bumper to be facing the other way.  That way you kind of know its an AMG bumper but at the same time, your not sure because of the fogs
 
THe gap thats between the fogs and the center mouth of the bumper, is being filled in as we speak

i can dig it. changing the pieces does change the whole look, but i like the changed look better.
 
but hey its your car right? you already know if it was me none of this would have happened. section pres top/q bottom and call it a day...

All they have left to do is fill in the portion between the center mouth and the fogs and thats it.
 
 
Notice that the bumper is 2" shorter then the stock sclass amg bumper. This is so I can keep my car low to the ground (not just by having tall bumpers that hang low)

God this makes me want to have the time and energy for cars I did 3 years ago....  This is seriously an AMAZING project.  Executed perfectly in every way.  I have to say its the first project I have sen on any boards i frequent that i am truly excited about.  Props to you man, serious props.

Makes me not want to be as lazy with my kit but i just dont have the time to do it exactly how i want it.  Oh and its a y33 not an f50....  That has a little to do with it. ;)

The bumper is just about done, it just needs to be sanded and primed.  I did not take any more pics because I got into a big argument with the shop about something I dont want to get into yet.

hm good on you for sticking it out and getting what you want done the way you want it.
 
i dont want to put a kit on my 2gs because i did new kit and paint on my current car and the cost went from $5k to $8k and the job was rushed, quite poorly finished, and interior pieces were put together wrongly.

My car was vandalized while they had it parked outside their shop. I will not go into detail because it is being repaired.  Just pissed that someone would do that.

I know what its like to try and meet a deadline for a show.  With my SC400 I picked it up from my body guy the MORNING of a big local show.  Better to just take your time as there is always another show.

As of right now, I dont even think someone did it. They are telling me its due to the heat and because I had previous rock chips. They said they watered down the car and that could of caused the glass to crack because of the chips in the heat (?). They are trying to be slick about it so they dont have to replace it.
 
Either way, its their fault 
1. As soon as the car is in their shop, they have to take responsibility
2. It was parked outside and if it was in the garage at the time, this wouldnt have happened
3. Those rocks chips were on the glass for years and I never used to have a garage and this never happened

Dude, I onno what you can do.  Last time something like this happend at my body shop, the owner did nothing to pay for the damages.  Me and hoebag installed my new airbags that saturday and they were working fine.  Come tuesday morning, I get a phone call saying that my rear end wouldnt pick up.  I went there and one of the bags was blown.  This is a stock toyota air strut that runs around $1000/each.  He said noone messed with the car, but how else was an airbag gonna to pop?  So basically I took a hit, and was SOL.  They probably wont do anything to correct the problem.  Why are you going to waste time by callin the insurance company to replace your window.  Sure, it may not cost you anything, but when you go to reinstate your insurance yours rates will surely go up.

Split the cost of a new windshield. It can't be THAT much. Mine got replaced by Safe-lite (uses ppg replacement glass) for 208, they even came and did it at my house. dude said he'd be done in 40 minutes, was done in 38. 
 
How they are describing it breaking is EXACTLY how mine broke. It was about 83* out, and the sun was out, windshield heated up, there was a rock chip on the corner of the windshield, went to wash the car, sprayed the windshield,  heard a *thunk*, looked at my windshield, crack halfway across the glass. 
 
Talked to the guy from Safe-Lite, he said it happens all the time. Even said that the glass can crack when it just gets too hot/cold too fast, without any cracks/chips in the glass. He said one way to help prevent this is to leave your sunroof open or windows cracked a little bit. 
 
You would be able to tell right away if it's been cracked by expansion/contraction, because it'll be running through the chip or starting from the chip.

Thanks Caoboy, turns out Safelite does carry my glass and for about 1/6th of the cost the dealer wants.  May not be the same but its still better then the chipped stock glass that I had.  The reason I made a fuss was because the dealer wanted $1400 and I wasnt about to pay that plus the Store owner promised to pay for it then his son changed his mind on me which really got me pissed.

Yeah, over on Club Lexus, if you don't want to pay for OEM (~$850) they recommended SafeLite. I THINK most aftermarket installers use the same glass, made by PPG or something? But the dude who installed mine was the only one that was willing to work on a Lexus, he even had a special tool he made to take out and install our stupid rearview mirror we have on the GS. 

I also asked him about the whole blue tape crap on the windshield, he said that it's not needed, the downforce from the wind would push it in place more than the tape, and the tape won't hold it from coming out if it's going to come out. 

Hopefully your install goes as well as mine.

Just so you know, PPG is an OE supplier for a lot of car companies. They might even be the ones who make Nissan glass in the first place. They do for Honda, that I know for sure.

PPG is def not the same glass as used on the Q, I read on it.  Some guy that works for a glass company is on one of the forums and he explained how the OEM glass is much thicker, has better sound deadening, better fit, and doesnt have any waves in the glass like some after market windshields have.
 
At the end, I dont think all those benifits are worth that big of a price difference.  Especially since most people (including myself) will not even notice it

Dont get anything besides the OEM glass.  Trust me, you will regret getting anything else.

recently went with a ppg aftermarket replacement myself trying to cut on the costs only to end up highly dissapointed.   don't do it.  called them right back and told them to take their shit out and replace it with OEM.

I have always preferred pilkington glass, but I believe that is considered OEM.  Had Safe-Lite do the windshield in my tacoma, two days(and no recolection of a chip or visible sign of a chip) and the windshield was cracked completely through.  They would not offer to replace for free.  Do not use Safe-Lite.  There is a reason they are cheap.

i know the price hurts bro, but id have to say go oem. the glass is just plain better. it would be more than enough on a daily driving economy car, but youve put too much work into your whip to cheap out on that. safety,visibility, and sound deadening are different. just try to get them to pay at least half. ive talked to a glass shop about getting a similar replacement i had done on my cadillac, but they frankly told me how good the oem glass is. 
 
i know a bunch of drift guys that replaced with safe-lite, its good for the price, but i can tell the difference if i look close enough.
its not blurry.. it just has strange slight distortions in certain areas, and im pretty sure it would shatter in a small accident. 
for the  replacement make sure the people that do it are top notch, and stand by their work.(im sure ur more than aware of that) lol ive just heard some horror stories. even mercedes dealers screw up. know a girl that had her windshield crack and fall in the day after they did it. luckily no one was in the car at the time when it caved. visually was mounted ok but had pressure points. did a lot of damage to the seats and dash, especially since it was an older 96  S -class

edit:forgot to say goodluck with that! hopefully you dont have to foot the entire bill.

wow prices here in miami are really cheap on glass i replace front windshields everyday on my car dealership vehicles when they come from the auctions and stuff, i had my q45 replace 2 days ago due to a crack and cost me $135 installed pretty good price glass in good ppg quality so no compaines here with ppg , oh well good luck Q , hope it all works out !

Its not done yet.  The glass was replaced and the bumper is done.  They just need to make room for the fogs and wire them up then paint the bumper.  These fogs are huge, I have to remove the windshield washer fluid tank in order to run them.  After that, I need to take it back to the first shop because they managed to get clear overspray on the trunk and rear windshield.  THey will take care of it though.
 
 
ill take a pic towards the end of the week but the good pics will come next weekend at HIN (because I wont be taking them)

Thanks.  That would be a great feeling if I was to make it but honestly, I would think I just made it because the car is new and they had not seen it before being that im not from Japan.  Some of their cars have lots of money put into custom interiors (something I dont have) and lots of little details all around.  I also noticed that they dont use Photoshop which I think is great but at the same time, might hurt me lol

I think you'll get best of show, best vip, best jdm, best euro, best domestic. You'll just take all the trophies.

I wouldnt go that far.

As far as whats next, I have lots of plans. Custom rear bumper will come soon. After that, I hope to do a major interior project.
 
 
I might even sell it. I don't want to but if the price is right, I will take it and start something new.

Wow... it's pimpin man.

Just a suggestion. During the show, maybe you would like to put your 18s back in? This will show people that rim size secondary in VIP stylin. It's the fitment and stance that makes the car looks ballin.

I thought about doing that at the "DUB" show.  The car goes better with these 19's.  The detail in each rim gives the car a nice luxury feel to it.
 
As for the mirrors, I might change them back on Monday.  I just wish I had more time to get some things done.  I don't even have curtains right now because they fell off and its too late to get some 3M tape.  Curtains are a must on this car IMO

The mirrors look great in person. They go with the wheels and make the paint look 10x glossier then it is because the silver is flat and the contrast from a shinny dark color to a flat light color looks good IMO. That was the point of doing it. Its hard to capture them with a shitty camera phone and at night. I will be painting them back to body color though. Im leaving the insides silver but Im going to paint the outer cap back to green. I want new mirrors altogether but im going to wait until my next project before I do so

Yah, I think it's too hard to guess with the pics.  Some quality shots might change up my opinion.  But like I said..the conversion came out according to plan very well, no doubt there.

stick with the mirror idea. if you decide to do something, try to execute what you envisioned better. i think the silver paint may be a little too flat, which is why it doesn't catch the light right in pics. it was definitely the right thing to do though.
 
the presibent is growing on me. i still like the usdm/pres combo better, but the margin is getting smaller and smaller.
 
vents look a lot better in this round of pics.

I just paid money to have the holes welded shut on the doors.  Thats out of the question.  Moldings wont flow with my side vents.  I like the moldings on F50's just not mine.

The vibe I get off of VIP builds in japan is that the cars are a huge reflection of their owners. People do ground breaking stuff all the time, and even if it pushes some buttons or rubs people the wrong way, it is the definition of VIP. Custom making bumpers, fenders, interior ect... is always unique and something to see.

Any body can make a $20k car appear to be a $100,000 car by adding cheap badges or grill (300c to bentley) but what you did here was made a $20k car look like it was WORTH $100,000. Not because you made it look like a bentley (which you didn't) because you made it look like the fattest fucking thing on 4 flawlessly flush wheels. On a website with alot of "me-too's" you made something that should make [i]everyone[/i] stop and not just appreciate, but think about how much thought and time they put into their own builds. This build made me stop and think "how far am I pushing the envelope? How inventive am I being?"

Someone get this man a crown, he's king of east coast VIP.

Im not sure if you caught it but I said my strut cracked. NYC streets are brutal. Heavy V8 + front camber + rough roads = cracked strut. It happened to crack the day of the show and thats why I didnt slam the car at the show. I didnt want the car to get stuck on that one side.
 
As far as the Hancook tires, I get so many tire blow outs that im forced to get whats available at the tire shop. I like Hancook tires because they can take a extreme stretch.

Its part of the game lol.  I just hate seeing cars dump their coilovers for shows or drive around with blue tape.  To me, a car makes its biggest impression when its actually moving on the road.

Nope lol.  Not big deal, I am going to have the projectors adjusted soon.  Right now I have to get my wheels refinished, strut repaired, exhaust repaired.  Once I take care of the important things, I will take care of the cutoff

There are a few reasons why I dont get into cost
 
1. If its too much, people will think im BSing or I got jerked with what I paid
2. If its too little, people will think the shop cut corners, some of the products are not authentic etc. etc
3. I will come off like im being cocky
4.I don't want people to focus on the price, rather the final product.

I thought I was the only one who noticed..not like its a huge deal, but it did catch my eye.  For those who don't know what the heck we're talking about..it's a small area at the bottom inner headlight where the three areas meet.

This is one sick build.  Much props to you.  I believe that it was mentioned by a couple other but if you got chrome mirrors covers it would bring together the chrome vents on the fender and the chrome pillars nicely.  Or maybe just color match the mirrors and the ride.  IMHO.

Once again much props to you and your ride......i'll be looking forward in seeing your ride on the cover of Vipcar magazine.

If it was only on one side, I would stress it but its equal on both sides.  Does it bother me?  Sure because its my car and any little thing on it bothers me but not to the point where im going to spend another $1000+ to have it perfected right now especially since the rest of the hood is spot on perfect for a conversion of this sort.  Maybe after I get some rock chips.  Also keep in mind that the pic is a close up.

word is born my brotha!  haha.  started tallyin'  the $$ i spent on my car too...and its starting to not make sense.  because i still live in a condo working two jobs.  so once i finish my car, its gonna be in my parking stall next to other cars who could possibly ding it, and out in the elements (unless i can find a car cover big enuff to cover my rims too!!).

maybe i have to see it in person to say, but in my honest opinion; the car doesnt flow well at all. the fogs, headlights, fender vents dont flow well with the whole car and the grill. you have a triangle, circle and a rectangle theme going on.

and that silver painted mirrors, it doesnt even blend with anything at all, and looks like you just picked it up and didnt have time to paint.

If I give you my honest opinion, you will be [B][I]VERY[/I][/B] offended but I am not going to go out of character.  
 
Its cool if you don't like the car, I have no problem with that.  I dont have time to make a diagram circling why and how each part astetically flows with the others.  
 
I love it, the people whoms opinions I value love it and the girls love it.  You cant make everyone happy.  If that was the case we would all be driving the same car.  :biggthumpup:

Im not taking pics or letting anyone else take them until the strut is fixed. You would be suprised how these pics are traveling all over the internet.
 
Since its going away for repair, im going to have some under body mods done too so I can get alittle more clearance. I might even do another appearance mod if the bill is reasonable :biggthumpup:

at risk of going in the bad books, but i also think on some angles the lights do seem a little at odds with the grille. but then, from other angles they really work. overall i really like the way it turned out just because even if you dont necessarilly like it, it has been pulled off so tidily that you still cant really put your finger on what the 'wrong' part is since the overall quality of the look is so good.
 
and those front bar scratches, i am seriously jealous of you if you can do that and not care. i would be some spewing haha i guess i need to harden up ;) low=scrape and thats just the way gravity works haha

Scratches on the bumper dont bother me because thats just one day labor to repaint it. Plus I wouldnt give up riding low for anything.
 
You have to be cold as ice to do this vip thing as hardcore as the guys over seas. I been through so many tires and broke so many parts that the maintance on this car has been that of an exotic. You can either quit and look for an easier way out or continue to do as you please because it puts a smile on your face and everyone elses face since they dont see cars that big driving slammed on the ground. :biggthumpup:

Someone tried stealing my car last night with a tow truck. They failed. They came back two hours later but dont realize that I dont sleep lol. I dont want to get into detail but they failed really bad.
 
This is why I didnt go nuts with the car until I moved into a house with a garage. I go to my old house with the car for the first time in like 5 months and already they are plotting to steal it and my old house isnt exactly anywhere near the ghetto.

A mysterious car has been discovered!
The pictures were sent from New York, and its an F50 Q45 (Japanese name is Cima), with a grill from the Japanese-only F50 President, Fogs from a Lexus LS460 and custom retrofitted quad headlights from a Bently Continental GT... Eastern and Western influences make for a great "Mix & Match VIP" look.

^^ American, European and Japanese used so freely, I guess thats the good thing about living in such a free country like USA!

This high level of VIP style also exists over there too...
And of course the New York number plate is displayed proudly

Door mirrors are painted silver to stand out, and this seems to be a popular technique over there... ?

I would really like to see this car in person...

I find it really funny now that its over with.  I had my car towed twice yesterday for a photoshoot and it took them over 2 hours each time and thats with two workers working together to tow it.  The guy who tried to steal it was an idiot for thinking it would be that easy.  Even if he did take it, the second its driven in the area no matter what color they repaint it, its being spotted by police.  :pat:

i saw that 350z/phantom thing the other day. i thinkthat would be a sick ass car if rolls actually built it rather than it being a conversion. some of the lines need to be worked out.

all i can say is awsome craftsmanship and well executed mod! and thats thinking out of the box..

I hope people at shows appreciate what went into this build.. many people just tend to over look changes when its done up perfect.. people just notice things when its not done up right.. but your from the pics looks flawless.. but i guess its a good thing when people dont notice the mod becuase than you know its been done right..

BTW.. thats crazy how you left your wheels on when the car was in body shop.. I would noramally swap it out to stocks.. Your the second person thats VIP that i know that left ther wheels on in the body shop..

Thanks, I appreciate it.  :biggthumpup:  Its far from done in my mind but im starting to loose the will to modify cars anymore.  Its never ending.  The money is one thing but the time and headaches take alot out of you.  It might be up for sale soon so I can save up for a condo in the city.
 
 
I left the wheels on because I dont have stock wheels.  My other set of wheels are in better condition then these so I choose to leave these on.

Like others, I'm going to compliment you on thinking outside of the box and trying something nobody else has tried. These kinds of builds are what keep the creative juices flowing in the community. I think that new guy (forget his name) made a bad impression by posting all those pics of other cars with whacked out body conversions, but he does bring up a valid point. When you take it to the extreme and change the car this much, it does leave alot of room for people to form their own opinions based on their own personal preferences of style. This is especially true when you mix match parts from different manufacturers. Unfortunately not everyone will like it, but the main thing is that you like it. To me thats the main reason any of us should be building our cars, for our own personal enjoyment. Beyond that, the car is a canvas we use to make a statement about our own personal style. In that regard you've definately made a statement with this build. I wouldn't worry to much about what people think when it comes to the money. The way I see it, it is what it is. But of course, that is your call to make. From what I've seen I think you've probably gotten close to investing the worth of the car itself into mods, possibly surpassed the cost of the car. Even if I'm wrong, I'd strongly recommend you get a good agreement with your insurance company on coverage for this extreme of a build, especially if you drive on the street. I've had friends that just got their bags done, just got paint, take it out to cruise for the first time, and get banged by some dumb lady not paying attention. Then their insurance dosn't cover anything and they lose out on everything. Don't let that be you! But I imagine you drive the car extremely carefully, so you should be OK!

man this build gives great inspiration to continue w/ my design process. been thouroughly looking into parts for my build. great work.
