Who runs a lot of negative camber?

How long have you been running camber and how has your tire wear been going?

I'm running -5 right now and am concerned about tire wear... 

Other boards I've been on said it won't be so bad so long as my toe is dialed in correctly.

I am running -5 camber too. And I just started so sorry I cant tell much about tire wear now.

But I am making sure that the toe is right so hopefully it wont chew up the tires badly. I expect my tires to get 10-12k miles

i'm tryin to decide if it would be worth to do the fender work to get my camber back to something better like -2

i've gone 10,000 miles so far on my tires and i haven't flipped them yet. i have -6 degrees camber, but i am running 195/50/15.....

I was running -10 in rear and -6 in front for about 6k miles I was able to fit 18x12 -21 and 18x10 -9 with only sticking out about 2" and then decide to redo the car !! you can see the rear camber in my sig !!

I was running -8 on my Q45 before I sold it, I never could get the alignment right on that damn thing. Stupid HICAS.

contrary to popular belief... the camber doesn't change enough (at least on the SC and from -5) to get back to within normal camber specs even at full lock (all the way up)

I have no idea why honestly... maybe I'm being ignorant blaming the hicas, and -8 was too much camber for stock toe adjustments, but everytime it'd get close a few days later it'd be all out of wack again. Who knows.. it's all good..

Hey Tommy, give us a peek of the new wheels on the car. I'm curious why you need -5 deg of camber ;D

I can't go all the way down because the tire hits inner fender... but at least i clear the outer fender at -5
I either need to go more camber... or hammer our the inner fender so i can roll this low

They're off of a G35... which is obviously too aggressive for a stock bodied SC

I vote you raise it up an inch, poke those wheels and roll at that height ;D

hehe... no no no... i don't want to drive at that height.... but I want to be able to "roll" (ie like in parking lots) that low

that way i have the reassurance that if i'm riding at a low stance... and i hit a good dip... I know my wheels won't rub or lockup... knowattaImean?

my normal drive height is with a 1 finger gap all around

I ran close to -8 in my rear for about a year and then -7 for another couple months after that, and then back to -8 for another few months... no probs. Nissan's rear multi-link, I believe, has better geometry than the toyota's though, and thus you can set it to be quite gentle with the bump steer... leading to not so bad tire wear even when crazily cambered. From the looks of the 3/4 shot, you've still got a few mm of fender lip that can prob be eliminated, after which you can space the wheels out with a 3-5mm spacer to prevent the inside edge from rubbing

Yeah I gotta give it, it was the First JDMtheory Meet I saw Van's car in person and I was like damn -4 is not going to do it for me more more !!

>HAHA< when you saw the car it was quite decambered too cuz those eurolines were semi-conservative...but now I wish it'd be rolling on any wheels, conservative or not, cuz it's been sitting on jack stands for... maybe 10 months now. And I've been really missing it too, esp after having worked on a fellow VSC member's Q that's the exact same color as mine the other month... ah, soon....

Cool Cool, Yeah I know how that feels, I finally got my car done after one year sitting on jack stands iin my garage but it should be on the road less than a month, But no more crazy camber here just couple of degrees here and there :coolsmiley:
