Thermostat problem? Q45 Y33

Okay so recently I was driving and I glanced down at my temp guage. It was 3/4 of the way up the guage which is wayyy too hot. I immediately try to pull over. When doing so my guage goes back down to where its supposed to in about 8 seconds (I was still moving). I kept driving and watching it and it all looked good all the way home. I get out and go into my house for about 2 hours in 58 degree weather. I come back out and start my car to go workout and the temp guage only went down about a centimeter... Any ideas?

New sensor, I had to replace mine in my gti.  Pain in the ass, but its probably just a sensor, but double check the coolant level to be safe man.

Coolant level is fine.  I checked my oil about 2 or 3 weeks ago and it was all fine.  Went and checked it today and it was just about gone.  I put in 3 quarts to get it good. I haven't seen any oil dump or anything like that and I got it changed about 2k miles ago full sythetic.  Hmm i'm confusedd.

Burning oil up. Have a friend drive behind you and look for smoke under acceleration man.

That's what I figured so I drove and had a friend behind me and floored it a couple times and nothing...

Huh, might be worth it to take it in if you keep losing oil.  Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Q man, wish I could help you out, but I have been so busy at work recently.

Yea man its fine. My susoension is having some problems so I'm brining that in before I sell the car too. If I keep losing oil ill definitely get that checked out aswell. Thanks for all your help.
