Intake For my GS

Which do you guys prefer? (Injen, SRT, or Fujita)

Injen is about $300 and the SRT is $450.. is the SRT worth another 150 bucks?

and Fujita..I found it on ebay. any info on this product?

yeah, I think the biggest difference you'll ever find would be the different filters used on aftermarket intakes.

First we need to know if it's a 300 or 400 etc. but here goes.

You would get decent power gains with a short ram intake and a proper tune. The SRT is so expensive because it comes with the piggyback ECU, which you would have to buy separate with another intake. The problem with that is, there's not really any expansion with the SRT intake.

Let's say you get a K&N intake (Great option) and an SAFC. If you want to add headers and exhaust etc down the road, you have what you need. The K&N also gives you better MPG!

This is not from just me, but a community of GS owners, so I think they know whats going on.

^^^ Yeah, The Swift Racing product is VERY nice. Theyve got an earned rep for putting out REAL numbers :biggthumpup: Their piggyback sets them a world apart from other intakes. 
 
If u dont have some sort of management along with it...its just a piece of pipe that makes the engine sound nice. Not a bad thing at all (we all love to hear it)...just not really performance wise to get one without the other.

i would have thought that a better flowing filter element would give performance gains regardless?
 
i am curous though because i have never heard of an intake pod coming with a piggyback ecu before. how is the fuelling on the 2GS? i am looking at getting a performance filter element for my 2GS as i dont want pipes and crap in the engine bay, plus i cbf making up heatshields etc for pod filters. But i am a little concerned that it may lean the engine out?

not worth it save the money and start adding up to buy some nice wheels or and air ride kit =) i have a GS also same year but im not spending any more money until i get the neccesary things like air ride and nice wheels

yah...save your money and do the major work first. get that stance fitment CORRECT and then go from there. besides, what's a VIP car without that perfect stance and fitment?

The SRT intake for the V8 Lexus will add quite a few ponies and it really honks!
I love the sound... but still quiet if you keep your foot out of it.

I installed this myself on my GS400 and the performance results were well worth it.
The K&N intake is just a cold air, but the SRT comes with a little black box.

SRT says +24 rwhp on the V8 and I believe it, because my GS400 will now pull on my
NSX in a 60-100mph run. Best bang-for-the-buck on the 1UZ motor.

Watch California, however: the SRT intake is not CARB-exempt and will not pass
a smog visual inspection, although it burns clean & passes at the pipe...

i have a GS300 so i have just ordered a Blitz Filter Element to go inside the stock air box on my 2GS. Ill see if it makes any difference once it arrives in a week or so.

if you are gonna do the intake its best to do the exhaust side of the motor also (headers, pipe and muffler) if you want the most performance gain out of it.  they all compliment each other.
