starter issues
my brother in law has to replace his 92 sc430. Need suggestions. Other forums and friends say that he has to take apart 5 parts of the engine just to get to it. Even a bolt off the tranny. Any ideas or help?

Do you mean an SC400? For the 1UZ-FE engine, the starter is under the intake manifold. Ridiculously stupid design. It cost me about $500 to fix including a new starter on my GS400.

You're right. If you are referring to the SC400 then it will be a costly repair because you have to remove a few thing to get to the starter. That is the only thing I hated about the 1UZ.
