choosing aero...

i know i'm getting way ahead of myself seeing as how i don't have the car yet, but do any of the vip kits have major fitment issues? i know for the 240 there were tons of drift kits, and not only the knockoff crap, but origin lab, msport, ect. and a few of them seemed to have serious hell lining up.  i figured since vip was i little more upper end these issues would be very minimal. has anyone had any trouble with any certain company?

the only fitment issues i have has is mainly with the knockoffs..as expected.  when you first put the kits on they may seam like they dont fit but you just have to play with because they are made to fit tight so there are no gaps.

thats what i was thinking too. i know knock offs won't fit correctly right out of the box. kits such as ings for 240s fit flawlessly, and just wanted to learn more about the vip kits.

they just need to be played with to get the fitment right...i have done so many knockoff kits for the past 10 years on all types of cars so when i did a couple vip ones it wasnt that bad

hmm well like it pretty much all falls back on that saying "you get what you pay for" and on top of that before you even buy a kit you should do your research and not just "ohh i heard it fits good or ohh yeah it looks bad ass" no i mean in depth forum whoring (asking questions, getting reviews pro,cons), you never know if it came off the mold and it was a pure defect, "defect meaning that it has massive pinhles in the fiberglass." when you see it on the car yeah it looks fine but you never know if there was a story behind it, maybe the guy spend even more trying to repair the crap right after the painter said "man this thing is pinned out". So look up any possible flaws from user reviews and don't just look on our side of the world, hit the international forums also, translate pages with google, cause the more you know means that you'll have a better understanding about  that certain product that your debating about buying . and keep in mind all kits aren't perfect after they come out of the mold. you gotta keep in mind these things are mass produced one and after another.  but do your research before u do anything =3 "Edit- and dont buy knock offs they are a can of worms trust me"

i would just buy an [I]original[/I] kit with the expectation of having to work it here and there.i don't care who makes it or how much it costs, body kits are meant to be prepped before installation so spend a little time tweaking it and getting it perfect. details, details, details.
 
now if you happen to get something that fits perfect and the finish is as good as it will ever get well then...

correct, any kit will need prep work even if it is expensive.

i understand the basic need of prep work for any kit. i just don't want 3 inch gaps on one side and no gap on the other. i could make a knockoff piece of crap fit if i wanted, but i want to go with high quality from the start.
