what to do now

well ladies and gents, the cima y33 project desogned by c4 president, has come to an end. The car was considered a total loss. My car now in the market is only worth 6500.00 or so with 84k on it and gas prices dont help. The amount of damages were round 8800.00 or more. :signdammit:. Really sucks because I have to send back my fenders and kit to my sponsors. And of course the long wait on the bank to decide rather I can keep the car or they take it.

I know exactly how you feel. I lost my car earlier this week. It's such a terrible feeling. My plans are to find another clean car and move my parts over. Would you do the same?

greatly appreciate it guys. but the y33 dream is probably gone for now. I already sold parts to my boy who got one. I have another platform already but always wanted to finish the q. My w210 is probably gonna be next and I am concidering getting a bike. Due to the fact my lancer is really being a big hole in my pocket so a cheap bike would due and the w210 project might not start til next year.

I am moving in october so I am saving money and whatnot. I was concidering buying it from the bank but i owe them. its financed. But hey if it is ment to be, i will get another one. I already sold the wald kit i had for it. And my fenders were custom but oh well.

is there some frame damage we can't see. other wise there is no way that should cost that much. if you buy it back you could sell it on here and make some $$$ back off it!

good luck with all happens.

Where are your headlights? Did you pull them off? And the door handles? Looks like the car got stolen.

Marcus, sorry to hear what happened but it looks to me that you got about 2k worht of damage and not 8800. I would make sure they get some one else to adjust it and if the insurance offers you to buy it back its goign to be a few hundred bucks at the most. it should not affect your financing as the title is with the bank but the car they don't care about as long as you make payments.

the insurance company is probably quoting it high...it might be cheaper for them to just pay the car loan off than to fix it.....did you get any other estimates from other body shops?

I've been reading and agree that the quote is bogus, unless there was in fact some frame damage. Plus if you were backed into shouldn't the resposability be the other persons insurance? Hit and run? No insurance? Anywayz, what did happen to your lights and handles? Did you sling them? The actual repair cost for my car was around $2500 which included new tail light, repaint+repinstripe, and some body pull. Too many questions Marcus........

the thing that sucks is there is a new law that doesnt allow you to bring the car to your choice of body shop even if your not at fault. i was talking to my cousin that works at gieco and she was telling me that everyone is complaining that they want to take it to this body shop or that body shop but because of this new law people are stuck with either their cars being fixed by a shop that they dont want their car at and the quality of work is crap or the estimate is high and the car gets totalled or its a low estimate the cheapest amount of work gets done.

i was about to say damn thats wack because i know some insurance companies try to recommend you to take a look at their shops because of the good work they do but it's just DRP(direct repair program) so they can get better deals and save some money. we just had a car come in last month from geico and he even said that he had the right to take it to any body shop he wants but the adjuster has to come out and inspect it. but i dont know i might be wrong.. i haven't been workin at the shop for a while. even though we give walk in estimates most insurance companies won't approve it if you go through them. but we do cut down deductibles to help out our customers.

marcus came to the shop awhile back so we can check out the damages and it was really bad. it seems that the quarter panels were shifted to the right a bit and inside the trunk was a bit pushed back too. plus the paint he has on his car isn't original so that's more paint, color matching and materials for the trunk, quarter panels, bumper. i think both lights were cracked. I can't believe they quoted $8,000+ tho, thats a grip of loot!!

sorry for the loss bro! hopefully you can jump right back with your wifeys mercedes. i know you got some great ideas for that ride. hit me up if you need anythin man, you know where I'm at.

yo yo everyone. new stats... the insurance company is 3rd party and they dont take cars. so it seems like the bank is gonna let me keep it but under salvage title. For the record, there is some frame damage, the car is only worth a small amount in the market and they would have to paint the whole car. The price for repair is high because all parts are from Infinity/Nissan. My spoiler alone is 500.00 and discontinued. My boy at the shop tried not to total it out but chicks insurance only covers so much. It still runs, yeah I agree its probably only 2k in damages but hey it is what it is.

BTW they would have to pull the frame, add sheet metal, move my rear window over to the left, taillight, bumper, reinforced bumper, trunk, spoiler, etc. The reason why the handles are off the back was because they had to make sure there was no inner door damages. The headlights are out because I was cleaning them and checking the front bumper for damages.

Its just very sad to see my car like this. Only did one show and didnt even get judged right.. My wife wants me to just save money and see what happens from there.
