from what i seen...the 480s fill up faster... but the 380s are more quiter...

i've sold both for over 4 yrs, personally, viair 480c dual-pack is preferred by most. chrome-polished finish shows real well with beauty boards, trunk set-ups, etc.  good luck! vr, mikey

480's are what i'm running and my buddy just got the same system but with the 380's...... he's thinking of going to 480's soon just because of the fill up time, there is a significant difference. plus the show look of course hahahahaha :smiley-rofl:

the 380s take way too long to fill up a tank, with my experience with them it was more like 3-4 minutes difference on filling a tank

We Sell both of them, and they are both Polished now. The other thing is their size. 380s are much smaller and can fitted almost about anywhere, and as other people said they are much quiter.

you have any input on the fill time difference between the 380/480 when using 2 to fill a 5 gal. tank?.. id like to have the quieter ones but at the same time dont want to be waiting forever for the tank to fill...

i had 380c's before, but i guess ill spend some extra money this time and see what the 480c is all about. thanks guys

If you have the room then bigger is always better and with these two units the price difference is not much so I would go with 480s. But you if these are going inside the trunk and you are getting 2 of them then 380 should look good and they are quieter. On the 5 Gal tank with 2x380s I would say about 10 min empty to full and maybe around 6min for 480s. 
 
Are you going to play with your setup alot ?? if not then you might have these running for a little every morning and that's it !!

[B]If you look at the specs like a torque curve the 480 is bigger and uses more power and will fill a tank quicker in the start so 0-130lbs but the 380 is faster and more efficient  in the 140-200lbs range. Also run the line for them straight to the battery and keep the voltage at 14 vdc and i fill my 5 gallon @145-175 lbs in 2 minutes with low draw.

If you really want an upgrade here is one that i think is a faster quieter pump if you can find it .

so are you saying the 380 will fill faster from 165 to 200psi???

just call viair couple of days ago but the 495 not released yet:signdammit:cant wait to see it

495 will be pimp , hopefully.

From what i understand the 380 pumps faster in velocity but smaller volume.
Think of it like an Internet packet, smaller packets just sent  faster from the 380 , so when the back pressure from the tank is higher  it can over come the pressures easier since it has a lower gearing.

why not look into az ?   I fill my two 7 gallon tanks Super fast less than 1:20 seconds ? 

But of the two 480 would be my choice , I hate waiting  .. might go H tank !

just adding some left out info for the 480 in case anyone was curious about the size difference:

• Dimensions: 11.50” L x 4.30” W x 6.50” H

I have the 380 and im looking to upgrade.  I dont even touch my switches when daily driving but when girls are in the car, they love to play around with them and it sucks when you having to wait for the tank to fill :shrug:

i was lookin into az and asked my boy who does air ride all day everyday. he said they hadsome issues when they first came out but had been getting better. he reccomended waiting a little longer until they had time to get everything a-1. made sense to me.
 
but 100% duty cycle all the way to 200psi is no punk.

if u hate waiting why no go Oasis XD9000 22sec to fill 10gallon ! 

i have 380C and takes 15min to fill a 5gallon tank from empty

i am also looking to get something better

either 1 AZ OB2 or 2 480C, or 1 495C

i don't have much room in the trunk, and i hate the noise and i hate waiting ....
what should i do ?
