s500 aftermarket air ride

[INDENT]hello everyone......my factory airmatic went out on me the other day....i think it's the pump......does anyone know of any kits that fit my car?...........or could i use my factory air struts and just buy valves,compressors, ect?..........any help would be great cause i cant even drive my car now.......i posted this in the welcome center i just figured it woulld get more views here

Have you ever posted in any mercedes specific forums? I'm sure someone here knows just may take awhile to get a good answer.

Before you go out and buy anything I would get it checked at your local mercedes repair shop.  If it's not too much to repair, you can get adjustable links to lower you car.  Here is the website where I got my links from.  [url]http://www.adjustableairride.com/[/url]

They work great and are fairly inexpensive considering how much brand new air costs.  Plus you would probably have to go with a universal set up from easy street or something.

Im waiting to see who will be the first to do it on a w220 and not have the cpu freaking out.

Are you talking about suspension or lighting?  I know if add lighting components it confuses the sensors.  Thats why my fogs will be connected to it's own switch.  As for suspension the adjustable links work great.

[INDENT]i found a kit on airbagit.com but it's 2000 just for the bags! i dont think i can swing that...........i just found out it's only going to cost me $ 500-600 to fix so ill prob just get it fixed and get the links........thanks for the info =)

from experience i have, they supplied totally incorrect bracket for almost every kit they made. 
btw are they the same company as Chassistech??

WORST company to buy suspension 'kits' from. They aren't even 'kits' that they say they are. They just ship out some compressors, lines valves, switches, and some bags, that may not even be load rated for your car. 
 
I asked this question when I was researching air setups, and found out they had a 'kit' for my old LS400. Was politely told that they were a piece of crap. Go with UAS or Air Runner for a trusted air ride setup. :biggthumpup:
 
IIRC, they are the same as chassistech.

same as chassistech. long history of being crappy products.

I agree.  I had nothing but issues with them a few years ago when I was bagging the explorer I had.  There service was horrible and left a very bad taste in my mouth.
 
I waited about 3 weeks to evern get the kit and the order was all wrong, to make a long story short almost 2 months later I had everything I needed.
 
Stay as far away from airbagit.com as you can.

Is it just the front of the vehicle where you say the airmatic went out? or both front and rear? There are many easy fixes for those problems on 220's

no the suspension if there is something wrong with the airride the cpu throws a code and tells you that the car is too low. I was wondering if you can acutally bag it and not interfere with the cpu and all the sensors it has.

you think Universal Air Suspension will have a kit?

as far as i know they dont. you would have to piece one together.
