{newbie} where to start?!!

I just left the jdm honda scene going a diff route now b/c of additions of family..and tired of cops....anywayz i need some input on where to begin my car is a blk 96 ls400

rims & Suspension is a great start, or which ever comes first. do alot of research first so you dont end up buying things and selling them. Im not telling you to copy peoples taste but look around and use the search button. There's alot of helpfull threads on here and also alot of nice cars, maybe that will lead you in the right direction. I hope i helped

you have a platform with tons of options. i'd start by looking at suspension. do you want coilovers or air? decide on suspension first so your not stuck with wheels that won't work out once you do decide on suspension. some popular  options are universal air suspension and airrunner as far as air ride goes. for coilover you can go with something like the jic's.

i think i have figure out the suspension route i am gonna go prob with the jic magic coilovers instead of air suspension, as far as wheels I have no idea yet.

my suggestions just because it will make things easier for you later is:
 
1. map out your build - this way you don't lose track of where you are headed. if it's good enough for a little animated girl with her purple backpack.... it's good enough for you.
 
2. take your time - this isn't a race. you want to do things right the first time around and get more bang for your buck. do  the research needed so you don't end up like most of us where you buy and sell due to trial and error.
 
3. use the search button - you have heard it here a few times already but you will hear it again and again. I do offer you this. make friends with people who have your platform. without bagging them ask them the harder questions you didn't find in using the search button. hell some people may even take you and your project on as a challenge for them to overcome if you ask them something they aren't sure about.
 
4. say thank you - when someone helps you out. thanks them. this will help build stronger relationships and friendships with your soon to be or already peers. believe me that our moms were right when they told us that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.
 
5. have fun - thisis a hobby and lifestyle but by no means a substitute for your family and friends. take time off here and there so you can refresh your mind and come back a little more clear headed when your build seems stuck!!
