If you are shopping around the bottom of the barrel cheapest insurance you can get, service should not be the first thing on your mind. There is a reason their insurance is cheap. I was young and had to do it to, just dont be expecting high service credentials. I did all the repairs and never went through my insurance for anything because it was such a hassle and I had Progressive.

Unless you got someone who can get you a hook up on USAA, dont be expecting anything very decent from insurance as a youth. Unless you are on your parents policy as a second driver.

Just a few words from someone who has been there.

You check with some of the online agencies? E-surance and Safe Auto. I have a buddy with E-surance and he is happy so far.

i agree, you get what you pay for. ive had soo many shops turn me away when i say i have progressive. cheap insurance is good if you rarely drive, and if u drive very, very cautiously. cause i mean shit happens and you end up paying for it in the end with cheap insurance.
not only do cheap companies cut way too many corners when u need repairs, they also give u shitty indifferent service. i think i lost a ton of money going thru cheap insurance companies. my f50 got keyed hardcore and they offer me like 3-4k, while a factory quality paintjob down here cost like 8k before the parts that need to be replaced n bodywork they need to do to work out the deep scratches. also crashed my '00 jaguar(not my fault) and they fixed it over n over but it wasnt the same, sold it for half the blue book with all good quality euro mods n low low miles :pat: it was almost a yearlong headache and i had to do so much arguing and yelling, and it still came out shitty so it was nowhere near worth it. first time it hit the paintshop they tried to blend as much as possible (instead of painting whole panels i.e. only the lower half of the door below the door molding!) and wanted to refurbish critical parts like suspension to save money, and on top of all that they kept negotiating the lowest possible amount that they would pay out from the beginning. i officially hate them.:saiyancrunks: saving a couple hundred per year wasnt worth losing out on around 15k

had a bunch of other bad experiences, too many to talk about. basically now im gonna shop for the best service and the least hassle its worth paying even an extra grand a year to me. i already have to pay around 6k anyway. :pat: best of luck to you, or your dad i should say =) jk

^ Guess that's why I'm glad I have AAA. I don't like paying more, but I checked other quotes, and it was only like 40 bucks more at the most for the amount of payments i'm doing. Not a big deal to save like 300 bucks.
