#174213Hi everyone, i'm new here
Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. I am from upstate NY. I love VIP/EXE cars, so I wanted to register here after looking around. I drive a 2003 Audi A6. Sadly I cannot sit it nice and low because of the horrendous state of roads we have here. Earlier this spring I broke one of my 19s going under 20mph with my foot over the brake(i was about to make a turn and caught a 4 inch deep pothole with the edge). :pat: Here are some pics of my car on the 19s(im back on my BBS RC 17s now)
I'm into automotive sound. Currently I dont have my sound system installed, but i'm working on it. I upgraded my speakers and going to get a much nicer sub amp soon so it will sound MUCH better from my previous car. I competed for sound quality with my previous car and got trophies. I am hoping to build a much better setup in the Audi. I feel like since I've stepped up in cars I should step up the audio as well. This isnt going to be one of those cars you hear thumping bass from 3 blocks away(it will be able to if i want it to), this is all about quality. I did the whole "get-it_as-loud-as-you-can-so-your-ears-bleed" thing, and its boring to me. Theres no finesse in it. Cars that compete in those competitions are sloppy, unfinished, reek of glue and fiberglass, filled with wood and mdf dust and shavings. Just nasty. I have the capability of putting out 4 Kilowatt with my current setup, but why? I'm not powering a small radio station. I am stepping down to 1kilowatt of VERY clean sound for the sub. In general I'm a minimalist, so I will be running only 5 speakers. Two years ago I got 2nd place in a sound quality competition without using my sub, more speakers doesnt mean better. For the most part I am all about function over form. My car is debadged. I replaced the front grille with an OEM looking one, but with no rings. The trunk badges are shaved off, I just left the rings on there. I'm going to stop here for now, because I tend to make HUGE posts sometimes, so if you have some other questions(especially audio) I'll be glad to answer them. Thanks for having me here.
