alternator verification please

99' q45t  on my new alternators plug theres a slot for two but theres three wires. I can't tell if my old one had two or three cuz its all mangled up. N yes i did post this on nico I'm just waiting for replies

i had the same thing. it works fine, the shop told me one was for canada and one was for the US. but cant remember what was what. but it works the same

so then the plug on your harness with three wires has two terminals to mate with the plug on the alternator right?
