f50 q45 president conversion

Hi everyone, I just traded in my 2nd gen GS a couple of weeks ago and hopped on the f50 bandwaggon. I was thinking about doing the president conversion. Can someone direct me in the right direction as fas as How or if I have to relocate the hood latch for the president hood with a grill bolted to it. WIDEBODY Q, can you school me real quick as far as how I can do it since you're OG at it :biggthumpup:

is this a secret no one wants to let out or something?

thanks guys.. I really appreciate the help. I'm fully connected with japan and can get any parts. the reason why I ask is for money saving purposes. If I can afford to just buy the grille and hood and custom the rest, maybe that's a better deal than doing everything with jdm nissan parts.

Sorry I have not had the time to surf this site. All the parts will have to be new from Nissan Japan since you will not be able to source anything used.
 
Apprx $5000-$6000 will get you everything you need shipped minus the headlights. Add $3000 on top of it or the lights which is very important imo. The stock 02-04 USDM lights are nasty looking
 
 
 
You need the bumper, hood, grill, hood struts, hood latch, hood mascott. Lights are optional. Hope that helps

used parts can be had if you look hard enough on yahoo auctions jp. i found a couple of grills, headlights. good luck with the search and build.

wow 6K? that's a grip of money considering the fact that what i'm really after is the look of the grill. Is there anyway to fabricate it custom with just the grill and possibly the hood.

No, the stock hood is aluminum.  You are not going to find anyone that will work on that hood and if you do, the labor will be very expensive.  The shapes are completly different.  The President grill is much taller then the stock grill.  The stock grill bolts up to the bumper where as the President grill bolts up to the hood

good luck on that project !!! f50 is a very expensive car to mod , widebodyQ knows alot of that for sure he has done it and re did it againg with the presibent which came out really good like he said its hard to find someone to work aluminum at any bodyshop if so they charge alot of money for that labor and time , but good luck with whathever you decide to do .

The President hood is very very heavy. I would say about 30-40 pounds heavier then the stock aluminum hood. The President hood is steel. Hood struts and hood latch are a must. You don't want your expensive hood to fly off the car.
 
 
Also forgot the mention the grill bracket.  You can get one custom made, you don't really need to order it from Japan but its something that is needed or the grill wont stay on.

gosh... I hardly ever use the word custom in my vocabulary cause it's associated with spending lots of money... You vip guys are crazy :runcoold:.

Get the President hood latch.  There is nothing custom about the latch, you just replace the factory one.  Its in the same position as the stock one but the stock one isnt strong enough to hold the President hood over time since its way heavier.

you guys talking about hood and grill how about the bumper , as i remember widebodyQ you had  the usdm front and the grill didnt line up perfect , unless he gets the jp president bumper ,am i right ?

I was planning to go custom with the bumper reguardless because of my headlights so I never bothered getting the President bumper but it is important that you get it. The grill area of the bumper is cut lower on the stock bumper so there will be a big gap. Also the sides of the US bumper go up but the president bumper dont because the hood comes down by the grill
