Y33: How do I remove the rear deck speakers?

I want to remove them mainly because they are useless to begin with, plus I disconnected them anyway. The subs in my trunk pound the shit out of them. I wanted to pull them out and run ports there instead. Anyone pull these? I am hoping it's not a 6 hour job.

you have to remove the rear decklid..... you have to remove the backrest of the rear seat.... and i think you have to remove the rear pillars.... it's been a while but i think you have to.

I did some a few months ago and I believe that was the same approach I took and in that order: 1)Rear seat, 2)Pillars, 3)decklid. They were top mounted under the rear decklid/cover to the shelf.

are the rear pillars hard to take off? how do you take them off? was trying to take off my rear deck also. took out the rear seats but then got puzzled on how to take off the rear pillars. Tried using the online manual but it doesnt really tell you how.

Just pull them....they use the same tabs as door panels

just pull them straight off or slide/pull them down to get them off? dont want to break the fasteners.. thanks again for the info...

My recommendation is to just leave it disconnected only. I removed the rear deck speakers once and put it back the same day. Reason? when I drive without the radio on I can hear fuel pump humming reflect off the rear windshield entering the cabin at night and It was getting annoying.

Bass wave is not directional like the mids and highs so as long as rear deck speakers are not hooked up it shouldn't create cancellation or effect in the bass sound. 

If your rear deck is hooked up then you should change the phase of the trunk sub to reverse in order to prevent the cancellation of the bass wave.

I did not take them out yet.

I want to take them out mianly because it will port into the cabin. I am not too worried about hearing the fuel pump as I always have music playing.
