yep, dude has/had a super rare disease, those are out of control warts or something like that?

He lost his job, then became a sideshow attraction, until he couldn't really do that anymore because it was too painful to walk or something like that, then a doctor took interest in him and is helping reverse the disease or something like that. It's a crazy story of something that really did happen.

actually, with regards to the tree man, I saw in the news that he is doing much better. he is taking medication and his treelike skin is reducing and also he went into surgery and got some of the stuff removed from his face.
