question regarding taking apart/putting together 3 piece wheels

I have 3 piece image wheels on my GTI and here's the problem I have: front wheel was put together by image in the following order: face, outer barrel, inner barrel.
The rears are put together the way wheels should go together: outer barrel, face, inner barrel.

So can I take my front wheels apart and put them together in the correct order?

they have a silicone seal on the inside so you need to have the tires removed, take them apart clean on the silicone off, reassemble them the way they need to be put and redo the silicone seal and let the silicone dry before you have the tires mounted back on or else they will leak

One of them is out of order. There's no wrong way just the manufactuers way. I've had 3pc wheels that were made in both ways you described.

So did they come from the manufactuer assembled two different ways? If so I would give them a call.

Also some 3pc wheels (outter lip and inner lip) are welded. So they don't have silicone and you can only take apart the face from the barrel.

According to the previous owner of these wheels Image told him they had to put fronts together that way for clearance reasons. I have a tonn of clearance to the caliper and the only thing that will change is how much the wheel sticks out...which should be almost half inch.

These wheels are a true 3 piece.

The biggest worry for me is that I don't want to put them together in the correct order (correct in my opinion) and then have the balance and overall structural integrity of the wheel go to shit.

Alot of wheel companies do weld the 3pc just to make them stronger where the bolts dont have contact. Lets say WORK wheels for instance. the VS-XX isnt welded but the VS-KF is welded because the bolts dont go all the way around. There is a shop called Car Nutz my friend worked at in washington you might want to call them to see who is a good place to take the wheels to get it done.

Well Image wheels wrote me back and said it's ok to remove the face and move it to it's proper location. Even provided me with specs.
Right now I'm trying to decide if I want to keep everything the same (color combination) or change the center's color to something other than black. The last option is to sell the wheels and do something else...more of a full disc type.
Opinions? Oh and all of this is being done to a mk5 gti.

Dude I'm down for a shoot. Ive got a perfect location too! I have few shots in mind. If you've got some hot girls who like to have their pictures taken, bring them too!

Not sure about pink. I was thinking purple, silver, maybe red, or polished.

well I took one wheel apart. Looks like I won't be able to move the face. The offset after all said and done would be +23, which is way too low for VW. So I might either sell the wheels or put them back on.

Offsets are never too low. Make the car fit the rims!

Haha yeah I know...the only problem is that I don't want to touch the body of the car and there's no camber adjustment up front, otherwise another degree of camber would have solved this problem.

I have been considering getting Mercedes SL500 wheels. 5 twisted spokes with circle in the middle, but at least 10 GTIs have them in US. Kinda prefer to stick with german wheels on this car which limits my choices.
