Help identifying UCF options
Hey guys, I am really new at the LS stuff, but I am looking at getting into them. I am sorry if this has been covered, but I have been searching for like an hour and a half with no results.
How can you designate which UCFs came equipped with the factory air suspension option? And in comparison to after market air ride setups, how risky is it to just use the data systems instead? I appreciate all of your help guys. And if this has been covered, just please point me in the right direction and lock the thread.

i no in Australia The 1990-1994 LS400's didnt come with air only coil springs not sure how it is in U.S.A hence why i got a Celsior

UCF10 = No air
UCF11 = Aired
2nd gen Celsior
UCF20 = No air
UCF21 = Aired

The data management system will work fine, just depends on how low you want to go and if you want to stick with factory or aftermarket.
I am certain more knowledgable people will chime in and give you more of a clear cut answer.

Thanks for the info guys. So, if it is the 11/21 ones that have, those are the second half of the generations (92-94, 98-00) correct? And shaneb, thanks for the little info on Data Systems. I have found a couple threads, and looks like I will try and make the effort to go that route since it is much less expensive than after market air.

incorrect! ucf11/21 will have air... doesn't matter what year.

ok, is there any distinguishing markings or body lines or anything to tell if its an 11/21? or is it only distinguished in like a VIN code?

Look at the shifter, if there is an extra button next to the power mode button called height you got air.
I would only use stock bags on a newer car like a 30, I have heard of a couple cases where the bags pop from being too old. Just my 2 cents but id go aftermarket.

Yep, not to mention UCF11 replacement OEM air suspension costs an arm and a leg. Even rebuilt units. OEM replacements cost more than just getting a UAS kit.

heres a ucf1X, 90-92. you can tell by the lower moldings, to me, it looks horrible... also by the rims...
heres 93-94 ucf1X. lower molding/side skirts looks cleaner, and also the rims...
heres a ucf2X, 95-97. totally different body style from the 90-94... larger body.
and 98-00 ucf2X, same size body as the 95-97, only the front end has changed.. also slight change in rear taillights but almost unnoticable...

ucf11, and 21 have air
only distinguished by chassis code and the switch inside the cabin
i use a datasystems controller, they are ok but my shocks are fucked as now, they clunk and shit when i hit bumps cos i drive around too low and the shocks are so soft that it emulates a de-sprung car if u go superlow
