Is anyone running component speakers in their y33?

I was looking into Diamond Audio HEX series and wanted to know will the 6.5 fit the front door if u use the Bose enclosure?

I'm running hex's, the stock mounting ring is too shallow.... you will have to cut the back portion off

Oh okay, someone told me i should try putting a 5.25 in the front door and just do 6.5 on the rear deck, any thoughts? Just wondering what amp are u running?

if you run 5.25, you will need to cut out new baffles that attatch to the oem ones...

some say rear decks aren't necessary if you have components and a/couple subs.  Anybody running aftermarket rear decks in their car along with components up front stage?

If you have components in the front doors and the rear doors then you DEFINATELY don't need speakers in the rear deck unless they are for sub duty. the stock speakers in the rear deck are for sub duty only. If you are not adding a subwoofer I recomend you leave those in tact and just replace the front speakers. are you using the stock headunit or replacing with something aftermarket?

I have components in the front doors, sound stream 6x9's in the rear deck, none in the rear doors because there is no space, and a sub in the boot.

the sound streams in the rear have better sounding vocals, and the sub provides a good low end,  when i got the fronts running, the Hi Freq in the front coomponents sound to bright, so im opting for coaxials, as i feel as if there some time alignment issue there... might be my imagination but i want to try it out.

Now i have teh new car, i gotta some how sort out how to get my amps in the car and a sub, while trying to keep the stock "Nissan Av System"  but i think it will have to go -__- :pat:

i'll get soem pics up for you today.

its pretty easy.  the only bitch is getting the speakers on the rear deck to line up with the holes in the chassis.     so you'll have tp set them in while the rear deck/woodcover/carpet thing is sitting on the chassis and then mark their positions so when you screw them in the slide nicely into position when you put the wood carpet deck thingy  back in place.

but if you want to have a go now.

the rear sets just pull out.  at the base of each main seat in the back there is a loop you pull to release the clip so the seat can pull out.  Pull this out after you've release both clips.

then you've exposed the bottom two screws for the back seat.  undo those. 
Next pull the center arm rest down.  and behind that is a board which covers the back.  wedge yoru fingers above it. and pull it down gently. it shoudl slide out nicely.   You've just discovered teh center screws.  TO memory these are the onyl screws left.
The next step which always makes me a bit nervous is pulling out the side trim which ruls with the rear window.  its on the side shaped like a diamond.  You have to peel back the ruber around the door towards the back seats/roof only.  then you can wedge yoru fingers in there and pull out the trim.  i recommend stickign yoru hand in deeper to stop bending or breaking of clips.  Do the same with the other side.

The back seats should just Lift out now.  there are two hooks behind the back seats.  hold the bottom of the seat.  Push it up towards the roof and it should lift out fine.

Next, the rear wood/carpet thingy on the rear deck is just held in by clips.  again becareful. its made out of weakish mdf type material.

as for the side door.  you have to lift up the arm rests.  Remove the window controlls.  and remove the puddle lights.  Remove the handles (not the door handles).  remove the black covers for the door handles.  Remember you dont have to remove the door handles.  just the covers only.

Remove the screws. and the door should Lift out of its clips, just like the rear seat.  But once again be REALLY careful with the window controls... its hard to get replaements.
