new here...project 06' gs300

Hello everyone, my name is Ron B. Im from the new york scene and im a singer and i own a car audio/video business. Wich brings me here because i have a 2006 gs300 awd black on black and ive decided to completely transform the car into something amazing and take it to the limits to what we can do with the car so i can show off some products in it at shows and meets and hopefully everyone can help me with choosing more pieces or custom ideas... 
 
I have just spent 20 thousand so far this week and will do whatever else to make this a vip styled gs and possibly one of the nicest 3rd generation gs's out there today...:shrug:

Ditch the cheapy Zenettis for something nicer. And you'll probably want to tone down the chrome trim a bit.

welcome aboard. i'm sure its nice to be able to ball out but i would slow down. looks like you might be doing too much at once. usually in car modding its easier to add than take away.
 
a couple things that are [I]majorly[/I] wrong imo.
 
1) wheels - zenetti is ok, i actually like them in their own respect but they are outmatched by the build. step up to something nicer.
 
2) suspension - air or at least some nice coilovers.
 
3) audio/video - i'm not sure whats going on here. are these the brands you carry in your shop? anything better? i personally wouldn'ty rock any of that gear [I]ever[/I], but if thats what you sell i guess thats what you gotta use.

this will give you a nice start and from there you can add here and there if you feel it necessary, although I don't see much need to as this would put you over the top as 3gs's afaik. also all these parts could be sourced from 1 vendor and i'm sure you could save a few stacks like that.
 
this way you can have a good foundation as far as exterior (and a hella plush interior) and add accesories where/if they are needed. its easy to get carried away when your just looking at websites but you need to think about how things will go together. a car can only take so many addons before it looks overdone.
 
of course all of this is just my opinion. no matter what you decide to do good luck and welcome aboard.

Yes i have purchased all these items on the list already. First i'd like to say thank you very much for the great input. Thats exactly what i need to get it right, i need everyones opinions and ideas as well, custom ideas for the interior would be great as well. I am willing to loose whatever i have to, to get this car perfect and just right. I know in some cases i will loose money, but if i have to do so to get it right then it will happen. The items that were on the car before i will probably end up selling after they come off and if there are items i dont like or think wont go well then they will be sold brand new. Im in the car business so it wont be too hard to sell them.
 
Also some of these items were on the car from when i first got it and added some mods before all this.
 
-like the carbon fiber insert (it will 100% be gone, biggest mistake of my life and im telling you i have made many) :shrug:
 
-lextasy license plates(they arent so bad but they are probably going off anyway)
 
-Zenettis are pretty nice but im planning on getting something else for the car. -tires - same as rims gonna be changed
 
-springs - same also i put them on with the tires, rims, & rotors(got 4 new ones going on again), when i first got the car, but my next mod is the air runner suspension system and ill need some help because thats the part of this all that im least expierenced. Ill need help figured how to get the vip look and pull the rims out to be flush with the car or even angled out of the fender...
 
-mufflers w tips were also done at first and will be off when the artisan spirits dual exhaust system comes in...im really excited about this one also that system is beautiful with the body kit and i hear good things about it...
 
-shark fin is part of the artisan spirits complete look so i might still keep this one..
 
-tailight trim - I kind of thought they would look good, but when it comes in i will def take a good look before it goes on the car.
 
-Puddle Lights were from carson toyota l-tuned parts and in the pic they are blue and i liked the kit, unfortunately i found white kits after i already bought this one. but to tell you the truth im not even sure if its white and blue or just blue or just white, but most likely blue from the pic, hopefully i can change both colors like the floor lighting.
 
-Tint right now is 35% all around, but lastweek one of my back windows suffered a rip and i need to get it re-done so i thought why not darken it, but you are right i wont touch it ill just get it fixed. I would do 20% all around but here in new york youll get a ticket every day till they are off and i know from my last car. :rules:

a couple things that are [I]majorly[/I] wrong imo.
 
1) wheels - zenetti is ok, i actually like them in their own respect but they are outmatched by the build. step up to something nicer.
 
2) suspension - air or at least some nice coilovers.
 
3) audio/video - i'm not sure whats going on here. are these the brands you carry in your shop? anything better? i personally wouldn'ty rock any of that gear [I]ever[/I], but if thats what you sell i guess thats what you gotta use.

this will give you a nice start and from there you can add here and there if you feel it necessary, although I don't see much need to as this would put you over the top as 3gs's afaik. also all these parts could be sourced from 1 vendor and i'm sure you could save a few stacks like that.
 
this way you can have a good foundation as far as exterior (and a hella plush interior) and add accesories where/if they are needed. its easy to get carried away when your just looking at websites but you need to think about how things will go together. a car can only take so many addons before it looks overdone.

I know i should slow down, but i never did with anything before and in most cases it did me good and took me to where i am today, and in some cases it actually did me real bad, but those stories are for another day. Thank you for the welcome :biggthumpup:... If something doesnt work ill just end up selling it, sometimes i do buy on impulse. Most of the parts i bought were thought out and some were just add-ons to orders if ya know what i mean.
 
Like i stated in the start of this post the zenettis will be gone ive been looking at some different models but i havent made up my mind yet and any input or ideas for wich route to go that would look good on a vip inspired 06' gs would be greatly appreciated.
 
Suspension will be the air runner system i just need some help to get it to look right and push the rims out, thats the part of all this i dont know how to achieve the look for.
 
I figured id get the audio comments, ill clear it up now..heh I sell all brands im a major wholesale distributer for most car audio brands, but we just took on afew new lines and i will show thier products in my car. The way we are going to do the system i will be able to take pieces off and put new ones in easily without have to re-wire or rip anything out. So the more popular brand name items will go in whenever i want and depending on the show or a meet ill decide wich to have it...:dance:

yeah with all the stuff youre getting, those wheels wouldnt even come close to fitting in on your ride.  get a japanese VIP wheel.  it would complete the car.  air would help too

I am still new to this, but what size lip am i looking at to get them flush with my fender?  Or what should the offset be....Would it look best to get sitting flush or not on the 3rd gen gs's...

Before the rims get the stance right. After that then get the rims. Just my humble opinion.

offset will be dependant on width, drop, camber, etc. check out the new sticky in the 101 section for explantion. this is the type of thing you are expected to figure out on your own, especially on a platform that not many have done yet. i'm sure whichever vendor you choose would be happy to help.

Hey what to do guys think about the rims on this youtube video...this video is on a vip style magazine and when the guy flips the pages from 1:10 to 1:17 theres an ad with a newer bodied lexus and i was wondering what everyone thought of that kinda style rim and also if anyone knows where they sell those rims.  It says the name Valeria on the top of the magazine page...

i'd keep looking. a lot of the wheels in the mag ads aren't that great. they're just in there cause the manufacturer payed for the ad.

K well im most likely going to buy that air runner kit by tuesday and im looking at afew sets of rim styles...For the newer bodied gs's i feel i should go with this kind of style but thats more my taste...but i really would like your opinions even if they arent good. I want to get an idea of what people think of them on my car...
 
The only other thing i need to actually buy is the artisan exhaust wich im waiting on my supplier to get in stock so i can pay for it but everything else is on its way and the air runner and rims will be bought by tuesday...so im gonna start putting pieces on weekly or even daily. 
 
 
Here are the rims, im still going with 19"s and a larger sized lip like 2-3" should cover the fender and either machines or a polished aluminum, my rims now are black with polished lips and im not sure i want that style anymore, but i dont count it out..this is a really big decision for how the look of my car will be...and i will support the vendors first and will see if they can get these style rims :biggthumpup:

would chrome rims be too much....i should probably stick with a machined rim or a polished aluminum rim..?

i think chrome would push it and could look tacky especially if you are going lots of other flashy chrome accents and what not. 
 
IMO all those rims above you posted are fairly generic and uninteresting, i dotn want to knock vendors product but thats just my opinion on those. They all look similar to lots of other wheels i think..

you can a, pick whatever brand/style wheel you want.
 
or
 
b, stick to the brands that are big in vip.
 
right or wrong there are certain wheels that "belong" on vip cars. out of the pics you posted the varianza is the only one i would rock, but theres a lot more out there. i think you're trying to rush things. trying to build a vip car while knowing very little about vip is only going to get you riding on what someone else says is cool.

I havent seen the Weds on the a 3G GS yet, that would be real nice..

Well im definately going to pick something that i like and think will fit right on the car. About the rushing ive planned on doing this for the last two years and unfortunately with my work i didnt have time to do it and it was on hold for awhile. About a month ago i started to put everything together and i had planned for a completion date for an auto show over here on the eastcoast and a electronics show wich my company will be at advertising some of our stuff. With the stance and rims i dont want to get it wrong and do all this for nothing wich is why i ask for everyones opinions even if they arent good and i just want to thank all of you because its definately helping me alotttt..:thumbsup: and trust me i wont be riding on what other people think is cool...maybe when i was younger what other people thought mattered to me, but these days its all about taking it to the limits and going by feel...it got me here and ill keep that up.

 My GS3 has had custom tables on the backs of the driver and passenger seats for a long time now. The foot rest idea is good, but theres really no room....I tried.  
 
For sum STRANGE reason my BMW coupe came with these laying in the trunk. Im not sure why because the back seat is just big enough for a babys car seat....and thats a stretch! 
I was going to recover them for the GS but it wouldve been a wasted effort :sad:
Need a bigger car :shrug:

I spoke to the guy whos going to paint the bumpers, fender, spoilers, ect.. and i was thinking if he has to paint 35% of the car then i might go and paint the whole car.

I am definately going to keep it black because thats my color for cars and personally i think its the best color for vip and i know some will disagree...but ive seen the super black paint job or a jet black, ect...
