i havea 2005 maxima and i wanna do a vip style look to it. anyone every seen or know of this being done yet? and info on it would be greatly apprecited. thanks

haven't seen a 6g even attempted. parts selection is gonna be extra weak (even more so than previous gens) because there was no cefiro equivelent. keep it clean, try to focus on luxury (imo the 6g is extremely lacking in this department), get the stance right, use quality parts, and be prepared to do mostly custom. one thing you have going for you is irs. solid beam blows. if you really want to get into it you could try and do a european spec r conversion: [IMG]http://www.nissan.co.nz/offer_files/maxima_spec_R/images/spec_r_maxima_front.jpg[/IMG] don't get too caught up in the vip label either. you can do everything right and 80% of people will still say its not good enough and 80% of those ppl will tell you you fail at life. tons of good styling cues from vip that can apply though. good luck.

[quote=ldmaxima;184009]thanks for the info so far. yeah part selection so far has been nothing but dead ends.[/quote] don't expect that to change. as far as styling parts you're choices probably won't get any better. the only people making parts for this car are from the american tuning scene. i've seen ppl try and use those parts (hell, i've even contiplated it myslef) and try to pull off a "vip-ish look". hasn't worked yet. if it was me i would just work on getting the stance right (i got some a34 jics here with you're name on em =)) and picking up some nice wheels. theres some small things i've seen that you can do for the exterior like oem style led tails, headlight retrofit, roof and trunk spoilers, etc. but as far as finding a nice body kit; not gonna happen... custom work will be your best friend.
^ before buying my 2GS i was looking at the model before this of Maxima. i did a google search and came up pretty blank and also did a Yahoo Japan search just to see if their had been any done up ones on japanese websites and came up almost blank too. there is a maxima.org forum thing i came across with some info on it. but overall it seemed pretty damn hard to do anything! the previous model to yours which i was looking at had the factory option Top Town kit or something and i had seen 1 locally in black with this kit and quad pipes plus chrome trimming and handles (all factory options) and it looked real nice. but finding one was next to impossible and the price of all those options through factory sources made me get put off! you should be able to suss somethign for coilovers and wheels are wheels as long as you get the offset right. at least you can do those fundamentals :P

i just found out that the sarona has a front lip for the 07 maximas. it doesnt look that bad but you will need to do the front end conversion.
ill check it out. ive thougth about the 07 conversion. its pretty simple to do, ill check the lip out and see

ordered 07 front bumper grill. should be in in 3 or 4 days. havent found rims yet. still looking... gonan wait till i hvae the of frotn end on before i figure out what lip i am going to use

I liked how it turned out - but it wasn't VIP style at all. More of drifter style. If you need some pointers, let me know. Never done a 6g, but I have some ideas.

I'm interested to see how this goes, never been a big fan of the 6 gens body style, my friend is currently attempting to go vip style on his 02 maxima, I think it does have potential but a lot will be custom

keep in mind, this is not vip or vip style or vip inspired. you can like this style, you can even build your car just like it, just don't mistake it for vip cause its low on big wheels.

It will never be recognized as a 'true' VIP platform but don't let that stop you from taking what you can from vip, keep it clean, don't skimp on wheels or ride height and you'll be close enough that it doesn't matter what the purists think lol. I'd look at some vip LS460's / 430's for inspiration instead of other maximas

I had a 96 maxima and try pulling off the VIPstyle look and couldnt get it the way i wnted it bcuz theres no camber what so ever in the rear lol only in the front if u got camber plates, sux...ill see if i can find some pix, rear wheel drive FTW =)

I'm considering doing something like this to my 5th gen (2001 Anniversary Edition) but can't find much inspiration. All the guys on Maxima.org run sport wheels and don't get low.
