With as reduced of a contact patch you have with extreme negative camber, it almost makes sense.
What better way to be a baller at the racetrack? And to do it in style and comfort?
I think my brain broked.......now let's wait for the "dude you can vip drift, check out this video, i am going to do it yo"
That's at Fuji..there's not too many things to run into on that "course". It's basically a wide open course that they run cones on to change the layout. The white structure you see in the background is the grandstands across from the pit garages. I don't think it has anything to do with a reduced contact patch...haha, but more of adequate powered rwd and light rear balance. It's not unusual at all. Look at all the Chaser's, Mark II's, Aristo's, Cresta's, Verossa's, etc. they're all big body 4 doors and used for drifting. I don't see why people are so amazed, to be completely honest. I've seen some that were more crazy than some of the coupes and hatches. Here's a clip from one of the JDM Insider DVD's...note half the cars in the vid and of course Kunny'z car (from the crew Night Walkers..who are mostly 4 doors) are big body 4 doors:
^ i cant see the movies at work, but as above there are quite a few bigger cars drifting. not usually the full-on VIP ones as such, but certainly platforms are commonly drifted. heck theyll drift any RWD turbo car! I think the S series and Skylines and 86's are all gettng a bit old and very common so people are looking for more unlikely cars to drift that are longer wheelbase and heavier. while it makes it harder to drift, i think it has almost more of an impact because theyre such big cars on the track and just look like they shouldnt be going sideways, so it adds to the spectacle! EDIT - actually the reason i bought my 2GS was because in my aussie magazine i used to subscribe too, High Performance Imports, they featured Kazama's black 2GS with 2JZ + top mount etc with his own line of bodykit and Black Fleet rims and hence i looked up prices, found mine and the rest is history! haha
mMm actually there are alot of GS's that are sliding like NOB who won d1gp used a s15 to a altessa & i believe last used a big @ss GS for demos, on utube theres a 1k hp aristo that a guy drifted... into a wall haha! soarers are becoming pretty popular prjkts now too!
you can drift anything thats RWD..... cant wait to get my car back on the road :(
do you have any vids of you drifting EM?
never again....no pics of any of my cars either =)
What's there to be ashamed of?:slap:
Nothing really, I build cars and Drift for myself now....to have fun like I used to be:biggthumpup: Rarely do I talk about what im doing (or have done) here. VSC is like my get-a-way from that outside world.
ehh depends if you mean slide yes... but drift? mMm depends, of course RWD helps but not ANYTHING can be full on driftable c'mon... *oh yeah... if memory serves me right, don't you have 2 SC's? or is that too long ago..??
yeah, I still have the boosted 300 and 400 weight transfer + breaking the rears loose throughout = Drifting  Its not the most common way to get the car sideways but not much else u can do without a clutch. My Driving instructor powered-over thru a whole stunt course. Was actually hard to tell that the car was an Automatic, if u didnt hear it...
