93 LS400 antenna problem?

The antenna will raise from the car when I turn on the radio, no problem.  When i turn off the radio, the antenna will go down but with noise and it will get stuck and not go down fully until i physically press down on it.  Even when it is fully closed (antenna all the way down), there is still the sound of the motor running.  Its very embarrassing.  How do I fix this?

You can buy a new track for it that should fix the problem, its either that or the antenna is sticking.  theres tons of fix it kits on ebay if you dont want to go to the dealer.

I lived with the annoying noise as I turn on/off the radio.  Its pretty embarrassing when you have other people in the car and people in their cars around you waiting for the light to go green.  :(

How much would the dealership charge for this?

just rip out the antenna and plug up the hole. the antenna looks kinda funny anyways.haha

I have the same problem with my daily driver LS. What I did was leave the antenna half way up & noticed now when i turn the radio on/off the antenna do not attempt to go up nor down & the noise went away.  If there is a fix kit for this I would def look into it for sure.

I went to a Car Stereo Shop and
 they Removed my old Antenna and
 Replaced It when I got a New Head Unit.
 
Try going to Any HighEnd Stereo Shop
they have tons of Relacement Antennas
for Sale, Motorized and Euro.
 
(I still ave a Motorized Antenna Its Just alot Shorter than Stock)
