#184596New member intro - ls430 UL
Just joined this forum and looking forward to be an active member. I am new to the whole VIP scene, but truely like the style.I sure wish forums like this were available back in the day when I first started mod'ing Japanese cars. I first started out with my then new 1983 Honda Accord sedan. Went through several wheel/tire combinations trying to fit the widest wheel/tire combo I could fit without too much rub. I am mainly into the clean look, and even though I had side skirts, front air dam, and low profile rear wing (early BMW 325 style) and Tokiko lowering springs and shocks (cut for that extra drop), and black out kit, it was relatively clean looking. For those of you in SoCal and into Hondas back then, you will recall Jackson Racing. I spent many a $ there. I miss that car. Put 236,000 miles on that baby, and it still looked fresh when I sold it. I have owned several cars that I have fixed up since then, but there is nothing like that first car eh?
Anyway, back to my latest project. I have a Lexus LS430 UL that I have owned since May. So far, I have purchased minor accessories as well as made minor modifications. Tinted windows (20% rear, 35%sides) with Llumar tint. Front end Clear Bra, including headlights and side mirrors. I also had the UL front badge clear plastic covered with the clear bra. Accessories include new all weather Lexus mats from Sewel, new ls460 plush floor mats (fit is very close and mats are so much better), Covercraft Weathershield HP car cover, nav screen protector, leather key cover, and other stuff not worth mentioning. Yet, so many things left to consider.
I also ordered a Data Systems controller from L-tuned and recently received it from Japan. I had AutoFashion here in San Diego install it for me. Freddie and the gang from AutoFashion are real cool and would recommend them to anyone interested in checking them out.
20 inch wheels are on order from Japan (through Autofashion), so it will be roughly two months before the car will have new shoes. I couldn't decide on a 5 spoke (VIP Modular VR08) or a full face (Leon Hardiritt Beil). I went for the Beil's. I hope I don't get the urge to switch. Anyone have/heardof issues with the VIP Modular wheels? What I really wanted were the D23 Walds full face wheel, but they are discontinued. Wald will no longer accept orders for it. The Leon Beil's are very similar to the D23's. I also have a MB E430 with AMG monoblocks, so that full face style I like.
Future mods include aero kit, and DVD/Audio. For the DVD/audio, I am looking at the DVD/TV product by http://avelectronic.com/ or the setup by Vais Technology for ipod connection (not sure if I can do both technically, but will look into it. If anyone knows, please share).
I would include an attachment with a pic of my car in its current state, but I couldn't quickly figure out how (without having to include a URL). I look forward to being an active member and learning stuff from you all.
