Works Company?

Anybody ever heard of Works Company (no, not Work Wheels :pat:)

I was browsing through one of my VIP Style mags and found this...

http://tm-group.jp/toyota/gt/celsior-ucf10/ha2/index.html

Not sure about the quality, but the prices are awesome.

They look good.... but why do I have a feeling that i've seen these kits somewhere before, from different companies. Like for example: the first kit for the SC/Soarer looks like a vertex kit.

Ha cheers for that link. im interested too, cause whenever i do a general parts search for JZS16 on YAJ i find particularly the front bumper but also sometimes the full kit by this company though i didnt note their name before. I thought they were just some real dodgey YAJ only type company.

the front bar and kit are even cheaper on their YAJ listing i think? or at least simiarly priced. like 585,000Y for a full kit! If it wasnt so god damn much for freight i would buy one just cause it's so cheap and then just do my own test fit/prep work. For that kind of money i dont mind spending some time on it hey....

EDIT - crazyboi thats true they do look similar to other comapnies. but if theyve just copied their designs and made their own moulds then i dont mind, but if theyve literally moulded off another companies kit then it could start to get a bit ugly..!

EDIT EDIT - the other thing is they have no pics on a car anywhere for any of them. Just the exact same images everywhere as on the site..

^further to all of the above, i noticed on their Home page they have a bright green button saying International Customers and then there's a page in english saying they're happy to answer enquiries and take orders from overseas, so i've sent them an email about a JZS16 Type 1 Kit. I asked them total price inc. delivery to Western Australia, and then asked if they had any pics of the kit installed and how the fitment & quality is..

ill see what they come back with... like i say if this costs me like $1-1500AUD as opposed to K-Break or something which is around $4500AUD then i'm saving in the region of $3-3500! Even if i have to cut and re-glass and stuff it can be a long term project for me, plus i have a mate up the road who is a body guy so i have no doubt he will help me out if need be.

i wasnt going to go a kit because of the damage factor, but at least i wouldnt feel so bad scraping around a kit that owes me $1k as opposed to 4 times that! haha

Version Select gets their kits from them from my understanding.

VS just may be the USA distributor for them but don't quote me on that.

Yeah, looks like where VS gets their stuff. Might as well get it from them if you are going to get a knockoff.

Does this mean you can contact them and get it at the Japan price? Or pay the price jack they have on them.

I have no idea, but i hate the fact that on the VS site, they have a picture of a black UCF10 with a kit, but the picture that pops up when you click on the link shows a totally different kit.... what the hell?

EDIT: Ok, so I emailed Raceonusa which is the SoCal dealer for Version Select about the UCF10 kit. Raceonusa has pics of a white UCF10 with the same kit on it as the Black UCF10 on the Version Select site, both of which are NOT the same kit thats in the pop up pic on the Version Select site. I hope theyre really selling the kit thats in the pop up, because the kit thats on the UCF10 they show looks like penis...
