Anyone with JIC's on FGY33 ?

I was wondering what is the opinion of the ride quality for the JIC owners of FGY33 ?

have em on the g50 and I love em, track/racing ride at setting 0 and smoother than a Cadillac at setting 15.

Which series (Model) do you have ?  FLT TAR-A2 or FLT TAR-VIP ?

i had them, they were way to stiff for my liking. VIP flt-a2

Wow was it that bad ? 

How was the pre-load setting ? Were the pre-load compressed alot ?

Do you remember what the spring rate was ?

Is it Y33 ?  I assume it is.

Sorry for all the questions but I want to compair JIC vs. Insurance to decide which one would be a good buy.

Wow too stiff?  I did notice their spring rates are pretty high.  Antbo did you try adjusting to full soft?

^^^yup. i had the dampening down all the way to 3, it was softer but still pretty stiff.

I have the dampening set to full soft and I love mine.  Of course our roads here are the tits.

I have Insurance on my Y33, I love them, compared to my friend's G50 with Jic's it's a big difference. The Jic's are way too stiff for my liking, my friends G50 rides like my S13 lol

Talked to the JIC rep and he said they are purposely designed to ride stiff so you can go low without rubbing - I talked to LOTC over on CL when I had my UCF11 and he has JIC's, says he hates them because way to stiff, but others seem to like them - go figure. I know this guy who has UAS for sale though...

According to JIC 

FLT-TAR VIP for Y33 spring rate is 7Kg front / 7kg rear
FLT-TAR VIP for G50 spring rate is 9kg front / 7kg rear
FLT-TAR for S13& S14 rate is 7kg front / 5kg rear

So you are pretty close about Luxury sedan riding like a drifting vehicle.


Does anyone know what the rate is on the Insurance coilovers ?

8k/6k, iirc. they ride really well, though, on a medium damping setting.

That means Insurance coilover for Y33 is 1kg stiffer in the front and 1kg less in the rear than the JIC's.

How can the Insurance coilover ride better if the springs are stiffer than the JIC's ?

I've never ridden or driven a Y33 on jic's just my friends G50, that's what I compared my coilovers to .

Interesting that the Insurance F50 coilovers are 8/6 which is pretty soft.  JIC VIP F50 is 10/6.  JIC VIP Y33 is 7/7

I have JIC FLT-A2's on mine and they're great. Ride quality is smooth except when you're rolling at slow speeds and it gets a little bouncy but nowhere near unbearable. With my old experience with other coilovers, they all do that if it's set to a stiffer setting. It's always adjustable to your liking though so if you do get them, just mess around with them until you dial them into your preference....

I guess not that many people are running their Y33 's on JIC.

half way through my install right now. but the old school jdm ones with no dampening adjustments.

for the rears sure. not the fronts!

been there done it. probably the only one faster is grant. i think i have dropped suspension on y33's about 25 times total. That gives you tips and tricks that you learn

I have my y33 on JIC's and i I like them a bit firm with my settings but nice none the less
