A Little Tire Insight Needed (For the Gurus)

Hey guys,

I'm currently running 452s, and I love them, but find them a little too squared and want to try something different. I am running 8.5 and 9.5 rims. I have already bought ST-115 225/35s for the fronts, but my question is what should I do in the rear? With the 452s, I was running 225/35 and 245/35, and I absolutely hated how much larger my rear tires looked than my fronts. If I run 245/35 ST-115s in the rear, will I run into the same predicament? Should I go with 235/35 ST-115 or try a different tire brand for the rear? Some help would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking for what will look the best aesthetically...

ST115 235/35/19 should give you about the same stretch as ST115 225 on 8.5.  There are pics in the tire stretch thread of simililar ST115 stretches.

Sounds about right.  The ratio is what makes them different.

Thanks...yeah I was looking in the other thread. My thing is, I don't really need the stretch in the back, as a 255/30 would probably be optimal...but unfortunately it's either 255/30 or 235/35 to get the look I want.

225/245 should be nice and even. 225/235 will have your rear stretched more than front (10mm wider tire in the rear on a 25.4,mm wider wheel w/ only 2.5mm change in aspect ratio).

Yeah, the only thing that sucks though is the taller sidewall in the rear :pat:

ot, where are you guys getting st115's still? the tire shops i've been to say they're no longer available for consumption (unless i'm mistaken, in which case i apologize)

I'm running 1" difference between front and rear staggered rims.

Personally I'd run a tire that runs narrow up fronts and tire that's either run true or slightly wider at the rear while maintaining the same size all round.

oops... missed that. really i'm surprised you could see the difference in height, but if that's how it is 225/235, like suggested, is probably the way to go.

I have the 225 and 235 on my set up 9j front and 10j rear falkin fk452 , They have been driven almost 130 mph stretched and ran great ;)
 
on my last set up I ran a 9j and 10j I had a 225 front and a 265/30 rear and It was the Brand General UHP and they stretched just fine .. Vs the 255/

Think the ST-115s will be fine on a 235-35 on a 9.5 inch rim? The 225 on the 8.5 didn't stretch as crazy as I thought it would.

It will be fine.  I had 245/35/19 ST115 on 19x10 and it wasn't too extreme.

yeah... 235 on 9.5 is a fairly moderate stretch.

THat sucks blackonblack but what did you do ? 
 
I dont even put on low pros anymore let alone a stretch tire ... for me doing labor ... I pay to play LOL
