Got lucky and discovered this...torn sidewall
I've been looking to sell my rims and decided to take my rims off. I kept putting it off and one day I had some time. Still debated while I was in bed if I wanted to do this today or sleep in more. Anyways I got my lazy ass out and put the stock rims back on and raised the car abit. Thank god I did. The first rim I took off I discovered this....still holds perfect air so I didn't notice a flat or anything. A few more miles and I'd see my rims on the ground. Make sure you guys check your tires time to time...especially on the inside wall.

That's no good.. I'm guessing low tire pressure? Glad you caught that in time. Those wheels look new.

same thing happened to me. i think it starts off with a bubble, then it tears and slowly rips apart the plying.
but i caught mine too late, where i had to drive my trafficstars on pavement when it happened.

had a tire blow off the bead while drifting before!

wow. what a stretch. and im guessing that you have taller sidewalls. because im on 215/35/19's and i was riding barrels. to the point that i could smell burning. lol.

so the bubbling is from low tyre pressures i have gathered then? but also some tyres just buble worse than others too?
im trying to tee up tyres at hte moment for my coming 19s and it is a real mission. a lot of places are very worried about the load ratings for my tyres (stock rating is 94V). is this a factor in the strength of the sidewall?

if it were me, id buy tires online, and find a trusted shop to install the tires. ive had so many shops that damaged my brand new wheels when bringing them the tires to stretch and boxed rims. but there is a limit for quality, when one shop here in az wanted $400 to stretch 225/40/18 onto my new weds 18*10's. i laughed at them and kept on truckin on.
